Socioeconomic and self-care profile of adolescent pregnant women

Resumo: Early pregnancy is seen as a public health problem, this situation has repercussions worldwide and is no different in Brazil. The study aimed to identify the socioeconomic and self-care profile of pregnant adolescents. It was a descriptive, quantitative and transversal study. 185 pregnant adolescents attended at the prenatal service in Caxias-MA participated in this study. Regarding the guidelines on self-care, the research showed that most participants receive these guidelines, 138 (75%), however, what draws attention is the fact that health professionals are not the greatest advisors, but guidance from family members 51 (37%). From the data obtained, it was noted that pregnant adolescents were in situations of vulnerability, both socioeconomically and in their obstetric aspects, since early menarche and the beginning of sexual intercourse favor an early and often unwanted pregnancy.

El estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar el perfil socioeconómico y de autocuidado de las adolescentes embarazadas. Fue un estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo y transversal. 185 adolescentes embarazadas atendidas en el servicio prenatal en Caxias-MA participaron en este estudio. Con respecto a las directrices sobre autocuidado, la investigación mostró que la mayoría de los participantes reciben estas directrices, 138 (75%), sin embargo, lo que llama la atención es el hecho de que los profesionales de la salud no son los mejores asesores, sino la orientación miembros de la familia 51 (37%). A partir de los datos obtenidos, se observó que las adolescentes embarazadas se encontraban en situaciones de vulnerabilidad, tanto socioeconómica como obstétrica, ya que la menarquia temprana y el comienzo de las relaciones sexuales favorecen un embarazo temprano y a menudo no deseado.A gravidez precoce é vista como problema de saúde pública, tal situação tem repercussão em âmbito mundial e não sendo diferente no Brasil. O estudo teve como objetivo identificar o perfil socioeconômico e autocuidado das gestantes adolescentes. Tratou- se de uma pesquisa descritiva, de caráter quantitativa e transversal.  Participaram deste estudo 185 gestantes adolescentes atendidas no serviço de pré-natal de Caxias- MA. Com relação as orientações sobre autocuidado, a pesquisa mostrou que a maioria das participantes recebem essas orientações, 138 (75%), contudo, o que chama atenção é o fato de não serem os profissionais da saúde os maiores orientadores, e sim orientações advindas de familiares 51 (37%).
