Perception of the insertion of academics of the USCS Medicine course internship in the obstetrics service of the municipality of São Caetano do Sul

Resumo: | Introduction: Modifications occurred at Obstetrics Service of Euryclides de Jesus Zerbini Hospital, in São Caetano do Sul, arising from the insertion of students from the medical school at the Municipal University of São Caetano do Sul, changing the routine of the health team, generating the need to identify problems and solutions. Objective: To analyze the perception of the actors about the insertion of the interns of the Medicine Course, in the care processes at the Hospital. Method: Qualitative study, , using a convenience sample of students from the 9th semester, patients/family members assisted by students, staff in contact with students and doctors/preceptors/professors of the course, totaling 4 groups. Result: Unpreparedness was observed in the reception of students, in the identification and presentation to the team, patients/family members, and also a deficit in the integration with the team and service. The preceptors weren’t trained to perform the preceptorship. There was discomfort on the part of the team due to the presence of the inmates; patients' estrangement due to lack of knowledge of the hospital's academic characteristics; unpreparedness of preceptors to welcome and guide them and a feeling of lack of belonging among inmates in the service due to lack of integration. Conclusion: The disruption of in-service practice activities in the study can harm training, quality of care and organizational climate. The findings encourage the review of the integration processes between the university and the service studied, employees, users and students, as well as the development of training strategies for preceptors by the university to improve teaching and practice in service to students of the university's undergraduate course. |

Objetivo: Analizar la percepción de los actores sobre la inserción de los internos de la Carrera de Medicina, en los procesos de atención en el Hospital. Método: Estudio cualitativo, utilizando la técnica de grupo, utilizando una muestra de conveniencia de estudiantes del 9º semestre, pacientes/familiares atendidos por los estudiantes, personal en contacto con los estudiantes y médicos/preceptores/profesores del curso, totalizando 4 grupos. Resultado: Se observó falta de preparación en la recepción de los estudiantes, en la identificación y presentación al equipo, pacientes/familiares, y también déficit en la integración con el equipo y el servicio. Los preceptores no estaban capacitados para ejercer la preceptoría. Hubo malestar por parte del equipo por la presencia de los internos; distanciamiento de los pacientes por desconocimiento de las características académicas del hospital; falta de preparación de los preceptores para acogerlos y orientarlos y sentimiento de falta de pertenencia de los internos en el servicio por falta de integración. Conclusión: La interrupción de las actividades de práctica en servicio en el estudio puede perjudicar la formación, la calidad de la atención y el clima organizacional. Los hallazgos alientan la revisión de los procesos de integración entre la universidad y el servicio estudiado, empleados, usuarios y estudiantes, así como el desarrollo de estrategias de formación de preceptores por parte de la universidad para mejorar la enseñanza y la práctica en el servicio a los estudiantes de la carrera universitaria.Introdução: Modificações ocorreram no Serviço de Obstetrícia do Hospital Euryclides de Jesus Zerbini, em São Caetano do Sul, decorrentes à inserção dos acadêmicos do internato do Curso de Medicina da Universidade Municipal de São Caetano do Sul, alterando a rotina da equipe de saúde, gerando a necessidade de identificar problemas e soluções. Objetivo: Analisar a percepção dos atores sobre a inserção dos internos do Curso de Medicina, nos processos de atendimento no Hospital. Método: Estudo qualitativo, mediante técnica de grupo, utilizando-se amostra por conveniência de acadêmicos do 9º semestre, pacientes/familiares atendidos pelos alunos, equipe em contato com os alunos e médicos/preceptores/docentes do curso, totalizando 4 grupos. Resultado: Observou-se despreparo na recepção dos alunos, na identificação e apresentação à equipe, aos pacientes/familiares, e também um déficit na integração com a equipe e serviço. Os preceptores não foram capacitados a realizar a preceptoria. Houve desconforto da equipe pela presença dos internos; estranhamento dos pacientes por desconhecimento da característica acadêmica do hospital; despreparo dos preceptores para acolher e orientá-los e sensação de falta de pertencimento dos internos no serviço por falta de integração. Conclusão: A desestruturação das atividades de prática em serviço no estudo pode prejudicar na formação, na qualidade do atendimento e no clima organizacional.
