Pharmaceutical attention in the dispensing of antimicrobials, in community pharmacies and drugstores, in the fight against Antimicrobial Resistance

Resumo: The study aims to investigate the importance of promoting health education by the pharmacist, in the professional/patient relationship, through pharmaceutical attention and care, in community pharmacies and drugstores, in the dispensing of antimicrobials. The study refers to an integrative bibliographic review with searches in databases over the last 10 years (2013-2023) such as Google Scholar, National library of medicine (PubMed) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). A total of 10 articles were selected, consisting of 3 from PubMed, 1 from SciELO and 6 from Google Scholar, articles that met the research objectives. In Brazil, around 80 million people practice self-medication. Among the medicines used without professional supervision, antibiotics account for 42% of the total. It was possible to observe the population's lack of knowledge about self-medication with antimicrobials and the consequences, since, in addition to the damage to individual health, they also pose problems to society and the environment. Therefore, the pharmacist, as an enabler of health education, is capable of providing vigilant guidance both for the acquisition and rational use of medicines, and for monitoring the patient's pharmacotherapy.

El estudio se refiere a una revisión bibliográfica integradora con búsquedas en bases de datos de los últimos 10 años (2013-2023) como Google Scholar, Biblioteca Nacional de Medicina (PubMed) y Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). Se seleccionaron un total de 10 artículos, 3 de PubMed, 1 de SciELO y 6 de Google Scholar, artículos que cumplieron con los objetivos de la investigación. En Brasil, alrededor de 80 millones de personas practican la automedicación: entre los medicamentos utilizados sin supervisión profesional, los antibióticos representan el 42% del total. Se pudo observar el desconocimiento de la población sobre la automedicación con antimicrobianos y sus consecuencias, ya que, además de los daños a la salud individual, también plantean problemas a la sociedad y al medio ambiente. Por tanto, el farmacéutico, como facilitador de la educación sanitaria, es capaz de proporcionar orientación vigilante tanto para la adquisición y uso racional de los medicamentos, como para el seguimiento de la farmacoterapia del paciente.O estudo tem como objetivo investigar a importância da promoção de educação em saúde pelo o farmacêutico, na relação de profissional/paciente, por meio da atenção farmacêutica e cuidados, em farmácias comunitárias e drogarias, na dispensação de antimicrobianos. O estudo, refere-se à uma revisão bibliográfica integrativa com busca em bancas de dados nos últimos 10 anos (2013-2023) como no Google Acadêmico, National library of medicine (PubMed) e Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO). Foram selecionados no total 10 artigos, constituídos de 3 da PubMed, 1 da SciELO e 6 do Google Acadêmico, artigos que atenderam os objetivos da pesquisa. No Brasil, cerca de 80 milhões de pessoas praticam a automedicação, entre os medicamentos utilizados sem a supervisão de profissionais, os antibióticos, correspondem a 42% do total. Foi possível observar a falta de conhecimentos da população sobre à automedicação com antimicrobianos e as consequências, visto que, além dos danos à saúde individual, também oferecem problemas a sociedade e ao meio ambiente.
