Resumo: This article aims to analyze teaching activity in the light of the strangeness category. To this end, the pertinent literature on issues related to work, alienation and estrangement was revisited using Lukács, Marx, Antunes, Antunes & Pinto, and Lessa; and as theoretical references on the issue of education and teaching activity in Brazil, Arroyo and Apple were used. As for the methodology, it is a theoretical research, in the dialectic historical materialist perspective that tries to search for signs of strange work in the teaching activity of Basic Education professionals in Brazil. It can be inferred, therefore, that the teaching profession suffers interference from the capitalist market regime, thus the activity developed daily by salaried teachers can also be considered as an activity with aspects of alienation and / or estrangement.

Con este fin, se revisó la literatura pertinente sobre temas relacionados con el trabajo, la alienación y el extrañeza utilizando Lukács, Marx, Antunes, Antunes y Pinto y Lessa; y como referencias teóricas sobre el tema de la educación y actividad docente en Brasil, se utilizaron Arroyo y Apple. En cuanto la metodología, es una investigación teórica, en la perspectiva dialéctica materialista histórica, que trata de buscar signos de trabajo extraño en la actividad docente de los profesionales de Educación Básica en Brasil. Se puede inferir, por lo tanto, que la profesión docente sufre interferencia del régimen del mercado capitalista, por lo que la actividad desarrollada diariamente por los maestros asalariados también puede considerarse como una actividad con aspectos de alienación y / o extrañeza.Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a atividade docente à luz da categoria estranhamento. Para isso, revisitou-se a literatura pertinente aos assuntos relacionados a trabalho, alienação e estranhamento utilizando para isso Lukács, Marx, Antunes, Antunes & Pinto e Lessa; já como referenciais teóricos sobre a questão da educação e atividade docente no Brasil foram utilizados Arroyo e Apple. Quanto à metodologia, trata-se de uma pesquisa de cunho teórico, na perspectiva materialista histórica dialética que tenta buscar indícios do trabalho estranhado na atividade docente dos profissionais da Educação Básica no Brasil.
