Impact of pain fatigue on occupational performance of clients with rheumatoid arthritis inserted in a SUS health care device in Rio de Janeiro

Resumo: Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the impact of rheumatoid arthritis on the occupational performance of activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living and on the quality of life of the patient. As well as, check the perception of the same, about the activities that potentially cause greater pain and fatigue when performed. Method: The cartographic method was chosen for its quanti-qualitative dimension. The study was carried out in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the Municipal Primary Health Care Network, and the Functional Capacity Assessment, Pain Self-efficacy Questionnaire and Quality of Life Questionnaire- SF-36A were used to collect data. Results: 10 patients with rheumatoid arthritis participated in the study and it was identified that this disease has a great impact on the functional capacity and quality of life of clients generating multiple complications for the occupational performance of the activities routine, of work and leisure, which affects the performance of the Activities of Daily Life linked to self-care, the Instrumental Activities of Daily Life, such as shopping, using a telephone, taking care of the house among others, In addition to diminishing their work capacity causing constant absence caused by pain and fatigue. Conclusion: the therapeutic and educational approach of Joint Protection and Energy Conservation supports for greater control of the symptoms of the disease prevents diseases such as the installation of deformities in the wrist joints, hands and feet, helping to improve quality of life and functional capacity.

También, comprobar la percepción del mismo, sobre las actividades que potencialmente causan mayor dolor y fatiga cuando as realiza. Método: El estudio fue realizado en el municipio de Río de Janeiro, en la Red Municipal de Atención Básica a la Salud y se utilizó para colecta de datos la Evaluación de la Capacidad Funcional, el Cuestionario- Autoeficacia del Dolor y el Cuestionario de Calidad de Vida- SF-36A. Resultados: Participaron de la investigación 10 portadores de artritis reumatoide y fue identificado que esta enfermedad tiene gran impacto sobre la capacidad funcional y la calidad de vida de los clientes generando múltiples complicaciones para el desempeño ocupacional de las actividades rutinarias, de trabajo y ocio, que afecta a la realización de las Actividades de la Vida diaria vinculadas al autocuidado, las Actividades Instrumentales de la Vida diaria, como hacer compras, usar teléfono, cuidar de la casa entre otras, además de disminuir su capacidad de trabajo ocasionando constantes alejamientos generados por las crisis de dolor y la fatiga. Conclusión: el enfoque terapéutico y educativo de Protección Articular y Conservación de Energía corrobora para el mayor control de los síntomas de la enfermedad, previene los agravios como la instalación de deformidades en las articulaciones del puño, manos y pies, ayudando a mejorar la calidad de vida y la capacidad funcional.Objetivo: identificar o impacto da artrite reumatoide no desempenho ocupacional nas atividades da vida diária e instrumentais de vida diária e na qualidade de vida do seu portador, além de comprovar a sua percepção sobre as atividades que causam aumento de dor e fadiga quando as realiza. Método: optou-se pelo método cartográfico pela sua dimensão quanti- qualitativa. O estudo foi realizado no município do Rio de Janeiro, na Rede Municipal de Atenção Básica à Saúde e se utilizou-se para coleta de dados a Avaliação da Capacidade Funcional, o  Questionário- Autoeficácia da Dor  e o Questionário de Qualidade de Vida- SF-36A. Resultados: Participaram da pesquisa 10 portadores de artrite reumatoide e foi identificado que esta enfermidade possui grande impacto sobre a capacidade funcional e a qualidade de vida dos clientes gerando múltiplos complicadores para o desempenho ocupacional das atividades rotineiras, de trabalho e lazer, que afeta a realização das Atividades da Vida diária vinculadas ao autocuidado, as Atividades Instrumentais da Vida diária, como fazer compras, usar telefone, cuidar da casa entre outras, além de diminuir sua capacidade laborativa ocasionando constantes afastamentos gerados pelas crises álgicas e pela fadiga.
