Evaluation of the influence of salinity on germination, development and diversity of endophytic microorganisms of the leguminous Mucuna aterrima

Resumo: The use of legumes is a method for the recovery of soil fertility, since in addition to providing organic matter also fixes nitrogen to the soil. Therefore, relevant research on the legume capacity for use in saline soils has been shown to assist the recovery of these legumes. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of salinity on germination, development and isolation of endophytic microorganisms of the black mucuna legume (Mucuna aterrima). The experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design (5x3) with five treatments (0.0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2 mol NaCl/L) and three replications. The percentage of germination, the dry mass of the root, stem and leaves were analyzed and counted bacteria and endophytic fungi. As a result, there was a reduction in the percentage of the germination rate with the increase in salinity. Although no interference was observed in the richness of microorganisms, bacterial resistance to salinity was verified. Thus, this study indicates that black mucuna is not indicated for planting in soils with saline concentrations higher than 0.1 mol NaCl/L, because this concentration presents toxicity to the plant and does not favor its germination.

Por eso, se muestran relevantes investigaciones acerca de la capacidad de las leguminosas para su uso en suelos salinos con el fin de auxiliar la recuperación de éstos. De esta forma, este trabajo tuvo como objetivo evaluar la influencia de la salinidad en la germinación, en el desarrollo y en el aislamiento de microorganismos endofíticos de la leguminosa mucuna negra (Mucuna aterrima). El experimento fue realizado con tratamientos de NaCl, en delineamiento completamente casualizado (5x3) con cinco tratamientos (0,0, 0,05, 0,1, 0,2 mol NaCl / L) y tres repeticiones. Se analizaron el porcentaje de germinación, la masa seca de la raíz, el caule y las hojas y se efectuó el conteo de bacterias y hongos endofíticos. Como resultado, se verificó una reducción del porcentaje de la tasa de germinación con el aumento de la salinidad. Aunque no se observó interferencia en la riqueza de microorganismos, se observó una mayor resistencia de las bacterias a la salinidad. De esta forma, este estudio indica que la mucuna negra no es indicada para plantío en suelos con concentraciones salinas mayores que 0,1 mol NaCL / L, pues esa concentración presenta toxicidad para la planta y no favorece su germinación.A utilização de leguminosas é um método visado para a recuperação de fertilidade dos solos, visto que além de fornecerem matéria orgânica também fixam nitrogênio ao solo. Por isso, mostram-se relevantes pesquisas acerca da capacidade das leguminosas para utilização em solos salinos com o intuito de se auxiliar a recuperação destes. Dessa forma, este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a influência da salinidade na germinação, no desenvolvimento e no isolamento de microrganismos endofíticos da leguminosa mucuna preta (Mucuna aterrima). O experimento foi realizado com tratamentos de NaCl, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado (5x3) com cinco tratamentos (0,0; 0,025; 0,05; 0,1; 0,2 mol NaCl/L) e três repetições. Foram analisados a porcentagem de germinação, a massa seca da raiz, caule e folhas e efetuada a contagem de bactérias e fungos endofíticos. Como resultado, verificou-se uma redução da porcentagem da taxa de germinação com o aumento da salinidade. Apesar de não ser observada interferência na riqueza de microrganismos, verificou-se maior resistência das bactérias à salinidade.
