Resumo: | There are several structures that are going through a load increase process, either by adding rooms or changing the use of the current environment. For this to occur without compromising the physical integrity of its users and the structure, it is necessary to use structural reinforcements, which serve to increase the performance of the structure, equipping it with more rigidity/or resistance. The research aimed to describe the main advantages and disadvantages of reinforcement techniques in reinforced concrete beams by external prestressing, bonding and/or anchoring steel sheets, bonding carbon fibers and the jacketing method. So that you can make the decision on which technique to use. The methodology of this work is based on a descriptive bibliographic research. Using the comparative method, which studies the differences and similarities between different facts. The choice of the most appropriate reinforcement technique must be made after a careful evaluation of the main characteristics of the piece to be reinforced and the methods that can be used. The definition can be based on: reinforcement performance, preservation of the architecture, application cost and ease and speed of installation and ease of finding the material for labor. |

Para que esto ocurra sin comprometer la integridad física de sus usuarios y la estructura, es necesario utilizar refuerzos estructurales, que sirven para incrementar el rendimiento de la estructura, dotándola de mayor rigidez y / o resistencia. La investigación tuvo como objetivo describir las principales ventajas y desventajas de las técnicas de refuerzo en vigas de hormigón armado por pretensado externo, pegado y / o anclaje de chapas de acero, pegado de fibras de carbono y por el método de encamisado, de manera que sea posible tomar la decisión sobre qué técnica a utilizar. La metodología de este trabajo se basa en una investigación bibliográfica descriptiva, utilizando el método comparativo, que estudia las diferencias y similitudes entre diferentes hechos. La elección de la técnica de refuerzo más adecuada debe realizarse tras una cuidadosa evaluación de las principales características de la pieza a reforzar y los métodos que se pueden utilizar. La definición puede basarse en: rendimiento del refuerzo, preservación de la arquitectura, costo de la aplicación, facilidad y velocidad de instalación y facilidad para encontrar material y mano de obra.Existem diversas estruturas que estão passando por um processo de aumento de carga, seja pelo acréscimo de cômodos ou alteração do uso do ambiente atual. Para que isso ocorra sem comprometer a integridade física de seus usuários e da estrutura é necessária a utilização de reforços estruturais, que sirvam para aumentar a performance da estrutura, equipando-a de mais rigidez e/ou resistência. A pesquisa teve como objetivo descrever as principais vantagens e desvantagens das técnicas de reforço em vigas de concreto armado por protensão externa, colagem e/ou chumbamento de chapas de aço, colagem de fibras de carbono e pelo método do encamisamento, para que assim seja possível tomar a decisão de qual técnica utilizar. A metodologia deste trabalho é baseada em uma pesquisa bibliográfica descritiva, utilizando o método comparativo, que estuda as diferenças e semelhanças entre diferentes fatos. A escolha da técnica de reforço mais adequada deve ser realizada após uma avaliação criteriosa das principais características da peça a ser reforçada e dos métodos que podem ser empregados.
