Resumo: | Environmental, biotic and abiotic factors play a fundamental role in the germination phases of seeds, moreover, it is important to know the ideal conditions in which different forest species germinate and settle in nature. Faced with unfavorable conditions, the germination process of the species can be hindered. To ensure the perpetuation of the species, the seeds develop dormancy process, which is a survival strategy in the face of disturbing situations in the environment. Considering that the seeds of forest species native to the Caatinga germinate under different conditions between each species, it is necessary to develop research that identifies the factors that influence this process, as well as the skills and techniques that the seeds use to ensure their continuity in nature. Thus, it is possible to indicate efficient and fast alternatives for germination, in order to use these techniques in seedling production, recovery of degraded areas or commercialization. |

Frente a condiciones desfavorables, el proceso de germinación de la especie puede verse obstaculizado. Para asegurar la perpetuación de la especie, las semillas desarrollan un proceso de latencia, que es una estrategia de supervivencia frente a situaciones perturbadoras en el medio ambiente. Teniendo en cuenta que las semillas de especies forestales nativas de la Caatinga germinan en diferentes condiciones entre cada especie, es necesario desarrollar investigaciones que identifiquen los factores que influyen en este proceso, así como las habilidades y técnicas que las semillas utilizan para asegurar su continuidad en la naturaleza. Así, es posible indicar alternativas eficientes y rápidas para la germinación, con el fin de utilizar estas técnicas en la producción de plántulas, recuperación de áreas degradadas o comercialización.Os fatores ambientais, bióticos e abióticos possuem papel fundamental, nas fases germinativas das sementes, além do mais, é importante conhecer as condições ideias em que as diferentes espécies florestais germinam e se estabelecem na natureza. Diante de condições desfavoráveis o processo de germinação das espécies, pode ser dificultado. Para garantirem a perpetuação das espécies, as sementes desenvolvem processo de dormência, que é uma estratégia de sobrevivência frente a situações perturbadoras no ambiente. Tendo em vista que, as sementes de espécies florestais nativas da Caatinga, germinam sob condições distintas entre cada espécie, se faz necessário desenvolver pesquisas que identifiquem os fatores que influenciam neste processo, assim como as habilidade e técnicas que as sementes utilizam para garantirem sua continuidade na natureza.
