School and family relationship: strategy in drug prevention

Resumo: This article addresses the problem of drug use by students at a public school and the preventive actions taken by the school community to minimize this problem. The study had as a locus, a Full-time High School, located in the district of Mangabeira, municipality of Eusébio - Ceará. It aimed to identify the factors that lead young people to use drugs, in order to develop a diagnosis that points out the panorama of drug use at school, the risk and protection factors involved. For data collection, semi-structured questionnaires related to the theme of drugs were used during the 2019 academic period. The analysis of statistical data was performed using the GraphPad Prism 6 software. The level of significance was set at p <0.05 , considering the 95% confidence interval for all tests. The results point out as the main risk factor for the use of legal and illegal drugs the influence of friendships caused by lack of parental monitoring, absence of family and school partnership. Meanwhile, the main protective factors are family support, school and social programs. Through this study, we believe that we have contributed to the school and family to reflect on their role, the implications of drugs in society, contributing to the cultural, political and economic transformation of society.

El estudio tuvo como locus, una escuela secundaria a tiempo completo, ubicada en el distrito de Mangabeira, municipio de Eusébio - Ceará. Su objetivo era identificar los factores que llevan a los jóvenes a usar drogas, a fin de desarrollar un diagnóstico que señale el panorama del consumo de drogas en la escuela, los factores de riesgo y protección involucrados. Para la recopilación de datos, se utilizaron cuestionarios semiestructurados relacionados con el tema de las drogas durante el período académico de 2019. El análisis de los datos estadísticos se realizó utilizando el software GraphPad Prism 6. El nivel de significación se estableció en p <0.05 , considerando el intervalo de confianza del 95% para todas las pruebas. Los resultados de estas acciones permitieron medir la viabilidad y el logro de los objetivos propuestos. A través de este estudio, creemos haber contribuido para que los maestros, estudiantes, empleados y la familia puedan reflexionar sobre su papel y puedan producir su propio conocimiento sobre las implicaciones de las drogas en la sociedad, articulando una integración entre la salud, la prevención y el ambiente escolar saludable, contribuyendo para la transformación cultural, política y económica de la sociedad.Este artigo aborda a problemática do consumo de drogas por estudantes de uma escola pública e as ações preventivas empregadas pela comunidade escolar na minimização desta problemática. O estudo teve como lócus, uma Escola de Ensino Médio de Tempo Integral, situada no bairro de Mangabeira, município de Eusébio – Ceará. Teve como objetivo identificar os fatores que levam os jovens ao uso das drogas, a fim de desenvolver um diagnóstico que aponte o panorama do uso de drogas na escola, os fatores de risco e de proteção envolvidos. Para a coleta de dados foi utilizado questionários semiestruturados relacionados com a temática sobre drogas durante o período letivo de 2019. A análise dos dados estatísticos foi realizada com a utilização do software GraphPad Prism 6.O nível de significância foi fixado em p<0,05, considerando o intervalo de confiança de 95% para todos os testes. Os resultados apontam como principal fator de risco ao uso de drogas lícitas e ilícitas a influência das amizades causada por falta do acompanhamento dos pais, ausência da parceria da família e escola. Enquanto, os principais fatores de proteção são o acompanhamento familiar, a escola e programas sociais.
