Resumo: | This article aims to describe the operation and applicability of the VERDES-PT application for the city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal, and to show the values that are wasted annually by the city. The methodology used is from the VERDES – PT program, which shows the numbers through reverse logistics. With the generation of domestic solid waste increasing on an exponential scale, the public agencies responsible for the management of this waste have been adopting recycling as one of the ways to reuse urban waste, not only as a raw material, but also as a generator of jobs and income to classes with less educational background. As a result, the city of Lisbon has an annual potential of 146 million euros that could be returned to public coffers, if selective collection was adopted for 100% of its generation of urban waste. But, as will be seen in this article, the city loses 68 million euros a year for not adopting a waste management policy that takes full advantage of its generation. |

Research, Society and Development2020-03-28info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/296110.33448/rsd-v9i5.2961Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 5; e46952961Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 5; e46952961Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 5; e469529612525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/2961/5363Copyright (c) 2020 Alessandro Marco Rosini, Márcio Magera Conceição, Márcio Magera Conceição, Joelma Telesi Pacheco Conceição, Joelma Telesi Pacheco Conceição, Ricardo Costa, Ricardo Costa, Fabricio Bau Dalmas, Fabricio Bau Dalmasinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessConceição, Márcio MageraCosta, RicardoConceição, Joelma Telesi PachecoRosini, Alessandro MarcoDalma, Fabricio Bau2020-08-20T18:06:36Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/2961Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:27:20.307901Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
