Resumo: The study portrays young people's knowledge about sexually transmitted infections and how they approach this topic in relation to education for prevention, thus laying the foundations for the implementation of prevention measures in public health, making it possible to improve the quality of life of young people. population, especially young people. Objective: To correlate sexual education with the prevention of sexually transmitted infections in the population. Methodology: This research is characterised by quantitative, descriptive and longitudinal methods. With volunteers aged 18 and over, of both sexes, who answered an adapted questionnaire from the Survey of Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices of the Brazilian Population (PCAP) 2013, with 37 questions from a multiple-choice evaluation form, applied in virtual form through the Google Forms platform via a link shared through social networks: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp. It is concluded that the data obtained and the prevalence of key articles highlighted the lack of preparation of educators and health professionals in sexual education for the population, in the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, which demonstrated the need for innovations in the way of education, which requires professionals to be trained to interact with different cultures, beliefs, sexual orientation, age group and economic conditions.

Objetivo: Correlacionar la educación sexual con la prevención de infecciones de transmisión sexual en la población. Metodología: esta investigación se caracteriza por utilizar métodos cuantitativos, descriptivos y longitudinales. Con voluntarios de 18 años y más, de ambos sexos, que respondieron un cuestionario adaptado, de la Encuesta de Conocimientos, Actitudes y Prácticas en la Población Brasileña (PCAP) 2013, con 37 preguntas de un formulario de evaluación de opción múltiple, aplicado en forma virtual a través de la plataforma Google Forms mediante enlace, compartido a través de las redes sociales: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp. Se concluye que los datos obtenidos y la prevalencia de artículos clave resaltaron la falta de preparación de educadores y profesionales de la salud en educación sexual de la población, en la prevención de infecciones de transmisión sexual, lo que demostró la necesidad de innovaciones en la forma de educar. Lo cual requiere que los profesionales estén capacitados para interactuar con diferentes culturas, creencias, orientación sexual, grupo etario y condiciones económicas.O estudo retrata o conhecimento dos jovens sobre as infecções sexualmente transmissíveis e de como aborda esse tema em conjunto com a educação para a prevenção, e assim, construir bases para a implementação de medidas de prevenção na saúde pública, possibilita melhorar a qualidade de vida da população, principalmente dos jovens. Objetivo: Correlacionar a educação sexual com a prevenção de infecções sexualmente transmissíveis na população. Metodologia: esta pesquisa se caracteriza pelos métodos quantitativos, descritivos e longitudinais.
