Health professionals' perception of a university hospital of Integrative and Complementary Practices in Health

Resumo: | Introduction: The gap in the knowledge of professionals in relation to Integrative and Complementary Practices is one of the factors that make it difficult to implement these in health services, and the provision of training for changes in this scenario is relevant. Objective: To describe the perception of health professionals at a University Hospital on the use of integrative and complementary health practices. Method: Observational and descriptive study, with a quantitative approach and cross-sectional approach, developed with 109 professionals. Data collection took place between November 2020 and July 2021, through a self-administered questionnaire with questions about the characterization and perception of professionals about PICS. Results: There was a predominance of nursing professionals, between 30 and 39 years old, of mixed race, male, single, Catholic and from urban areas. There is a positive perception in relation to the practices, as the professionals agree, indicate and are interested in carrying out training, however, there is a weakness in their knowledge and familiarity with them, since many are unaware of the PNPIC or have never recommended any practice to them. patients. Conclusion: It was identified a positive perception of health professionals in relation to PICS and interest in knowing them, concomitant with little knowledge about the regulation of these practices and little professional use. Thus, it is necessary to adopt educational and permanent conducts with these professionals to promote proximity to the theme, since this is an important factor for the implementation of PICS in health services. |

Objetivo: Describir la percepción de los profesionales de salud de un Hospital Universitario sobre el uso de prácticas de salud integradoras y complementarias. Método: Estudio observacional y descriptivo, con abordaje cuantitativo y transversal, desarrollado con 109 profesionales. La recolección de datos ocurrió entre noviembre de 2020 y julio de 2021, a través de un cuestionario autoadministrado con preguntas sobre la caracterización y percepción de los profesionales sobre el PICS. Resultados: Predominaron los profesionales de enfermería, entre 30 y 39 años, mestizos, del sexo masculino, solteros, católicos y de área urbana. Existe una percepción positiva en relación a las prácticas, ya que los profesionales están de acuerdo, indican y están interesados en realizar capacitaciones, sin embargo, existe una debilidad en su conocimiento y familiaridad con estas, ya que muchos desconocen el PNPIC o nunca han recomendado cualquier práctica a los pacientes. Conclusión: Se identificó una percepción positiva de los profesionales de la salud en relación a las PICS y el interés por conocerlas, concomitante con poco conocimiento sobre la regulación de estas prácticas y poco uso profesional. Por lo tanto, es necesario adoptar conductas educativas y permanentes con estos profesionales para promover la proximidad con el tema, ya que este es un factor importante para la implementación del PICS en los servicios de salud.Introdução: A lacuna no conhecimento dos profissionais com relação às Práticas Integrativas e Complementares é um dos fatores que dificultam a implantação dessas nos serviços de saúde, sendo relevante a oferta de capacitações para mudanças nesse cenário. Objetivo: Descrever a percepção dos profissionais de saúde de um Hospital Universitário sobre o uso das práticas integrativas e complementares em saúde. Método: Estudo observacional e descritivo, com abordagem quantitativa e recorte transversal, desenvolvido com 109 profissionais. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre novembro de 2020 e julho de 2021, através de um questionário autoaplicável com questões sobre a caracterização e percepção dos profissionais sobre as PICS. Resultados: Houve predominância de profissionais de enfermagem, entre 30 e 39 anos, de cor parda, sexo masculino, solteiros, católicos e de zona urbana. Percebe-se uma percepção positiva em relação às práticas, pois os profissionais concordam, indicam e têm interesse em realizar capacitação, porém, observa-se fragilidade em seu conhecimento e familiaridade com essas, visto que muitos desconhecem a PNPIC ou nunca recomendaram alguma prática aos pacientes. Conclusão: Identificou-se uma percepção positiva dos profissionais de saúde em relação às PICS e o interesse em conhecê-las, concomitante ao pouco conhecimento sobre a regulamentação dessas práticas e pouco uso profissional.
