Resumo: | This article presents a bibliographic research centered on a scientific interest on the understanding about the necessary conditions for there to be significant learning in the perspective of David Ausubel.The Meaningful Learning Theory (MLT), proposed by Ausubel, emphasizes that prior knowledge is the factor that most influences students' learning.However, it is worth noting that, despite its influence, prior knowledge is only a necessary condition, but not sufficient for meaningful learning according to the MLT.Thus, the present work points out that for the existence of meaningful learning, in the light of the Meaningful Learning Theory, two essential conditions are also necessary: student's predisposition to learn and potentially significant teaching material. |

La teoría del aprendizaje significativo (TAS), propuesta por Ausubel, enfatiza que el conocimiento previo es el factor que más influye en el aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Sin embargo, vale la pena señalar que, a pesar de su influencia, el conocimiento previo es solo una condición necesaria, pero no suficiente para un aprendizaje significativo de acuerdo con el TAS. Por lo tanto, el presente trabajo señala que para la existencia de un aprendizaje significativo, a la luz de la Teoría del Aprendizaje Significativo, también son necesarias dos condiciones esenciales: la predisposición del alumno a aprender y material de enseñanza potencialmente significativo.O presente artigo apresenta uma pesquisa bibliográfica centrada num interesse científico sobre o entendimento acerca das condições necessárias para que haja aprendizagem significativa na perspectiva de David Ausubel. A Teoria da Aprendizagem Significativa (TAS), proposta por Ausubel, enfatiza que o conhecimento prévio é o fator que mais influencia a aprendizagem dos alunos. Todavia, vale destacar que, apesar de sua influência, o conhecimento prévio é apenas uma condição necessária, mas não suficiente para que haja aprendizagem significativa de acordo com a TAS.
