Resumo: The difficulties of the schooling of students with disabilities in a hospital environment is a very important issue and it still needs to be studied, since the number of  PAEE students (target public of special education) has increased in schools and in the hospital environment, generating difficulties in the performance of the professional. Thus, this article aims to investigate the history of special education and hospital and to identify the challenges of schooling of students with disabilities in the hospital environment, also exposing ways to overcome these challenges. In this way a bibliographic research was carried out from electronic books, official documents and scientific articles accessible in reliable websites and databases, to increase knowledge and provide information that helps the professional to work in the best possible way. For now, the paths covered by special education and hospital, the challenges they face and how to overcome them are highlighted, which may contribute in the future to the best performance of professionals in the area. It is provisionally concluded that inclusion in both the school and the hospital environment still requires research, since it is a current issue that causes insecurity in relation to how to act, given the lack of necessary professional training.

Siendo así, este artículo tiene por objetivo investigar la historia de la educación especial y hospitalaria e identificar los desafíos de la escolarización de estudiantes con discapacidad en el ambiente hospitalario, exponiendo también maneras de superar esos desafíos. De esta forma se realizó una investigación bibliográfica a partir de libros electrónicos, documentos oficiales y artículos científicos accesibles en sitios y base de datos confiables, para ampliar conocimientos y proporcionar informaciones que ayuden al profesional a trabajar de la mejor forma posible. Por ahora se resaltan los caminos recorridos por la educación especial y hospitalaria, los desafíos que enfrentan y cómo superarlos, que podrán colaborar en el futuro para la mejor actuación de profesionales del área. Se concluye provisionalmente que la inclusión tanto en el ambiente escolar y en el hospital aún necesita investigaciones, pues es un tema considerado actual que causa inseguridad en relación a cómo actuar, ante la falta de formación profesional necesaria.As dificuldades da escolarização de estudantes com deficiência em ambiente hospitalar é um assunto muito importante e que ainda necessita ser estudado, pois o número de alunos da PAEE (público alvo da educação especial) tem aumentado nas escolas e no ambiente hospitalar, gerando dificuldades na atuação do profissional. Sendo assim, este artigo tem por objetivo investigar a história da educação especial e hospitalar e identificar os desafios da escolarização de estudantes com deficiência no ambiente hospitalar, expondo também maneiras de superar esses desafios. Dessa forma realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica a partir de livros eletrônicos, documentos oficiais e artigos científicos acessíveis em sites e base de dados confiáveis, para ampliar conhecimentos e fornecer informações que auxiliem o profissional a trabalhar da melhor forma possível. Por ora são ressaltados os caminhos percorridos pela educação especial e hospitalar, os desafios que enfrentam e como supera-los, que poderão colaborar futuramente para a melhor atuação de profissionais da área.
