Influence of spirituality on the conduct of couples during pregnancy under the view of nursing: literature review

Resumo: | The objective is to describe the experiences related to the spirituality of pregnant women and their sexual partners from the perspective of nursing. An integrative literature review with a primary search for articles published between 2000 and 2019 is outlined. In the results, eleven articles were selected, of which 55% were obtained from the Web of Science (WOS) database, all written in English, 27% were from 2019, 64% from the Asian continent, 64% from obstetrics and 55% from high-risk pregnant women. Islam represented 45% of the religions found, with Iran and the United States accounting for 27% of the studies. A main category was obtained: "Influence of spirituality on couples behavior during pregnancy" and twelve subcategories. The couple's positive attitudes related to spirituality were perceived. Many women mentioned the trust and divine support for childbirth and birth, it was also found that they were concerned about the fetus and made waivers so that they would be well. In many articles, men were helpful and attentive to the pregnant woman and the baby and wanted to be informed about their health. In all the studies, men were protective and hardworking, several had positive attitudes or feelings related to spirituality. The nurse was identified as a professional who supports and provides information to patients, however, he was not seen as a provider of spiritual support for the pregnant couple. In conclusion, the importance of developing new research on the spirituality of pregnant women and their partners for nursing is perceived. |

El objetivo es describir las experiencias relacionadas con la espiritualidad de la gestante y sus parejas sexuales em com la vista de la enfermería. Se realiza una revisión integradora de la literatura con búsqueda primaria de publicaciones entre 2000 y 2019. Em los resultados se seleccionaron once artículos, de estos, 55% fueron de la base de datos Web of Science (WOS), todos estaban en inglés, 27% de 2019, 64% de la Asia, 64% de la obstetrícia y 55% con mujeres embarazadas de alto riesgo. El Islam representó 45% de las religiones encontradas, el Irán y Estados Unidos representaron 27% de los estudios. Se obtuvo una categoría principal: "Influencia de la espiritualidad en el comportamiento de la pareja durante el embarazo" y doce subcategorías. Se percibieron las actitudes positivas de la pareja relacionadas con la espiritualidad. Muchas mujeres mencionaron la confianza y el apoyo divinos para el parto y el nacimiento, también se preocuparon por el feto e hicieron renuncias para que estuvieran bien. En muchos estudios los hombres fueron serviciales y atentos a la gestante y al bebé y querían estar informados sobre la salud de ambos, en todos los estudios los hombres se mostraron protectores y dedicados, varios tenían actitudes o sentimientos positivos relacionados con la espiritualidad. El enfermero fue um ayudante y proporcionó información a los pacientes, pero, no fue visto como un proveedor espiritual para las parejas. En conclusión, se percibe la importancia de desarrollar nuevas investigaciones sobre la espiritualidad de lãs parejas embarazadas para la enfermería.O objetivo é descrever as experiências relacionadas à espiritualidade das mulheres grávidas e seus parceiros sexuais sob a ótica da enfermagem. É delineada uma revisão integrativa de literatura com busca primária de artigos publicados entre 2000 e 2019. Nos resultados, houve a seleção de onze artigos, destes, 55% foram obtidos da base Web of Science (WOS), todos escritos em inglês, 27% dos trabalhos eram de 2019, 64% do continente asiático, 64% de obstetrícia e 55% com gestantes de alto risco. O islamismo representou 45% das religiões encontradas, sendo o Irã e os Estados Unidos com 27% dos estudos. Obteve-se uma categoria principal:“Influência da espiritualidade nas condutas dos casais durante a gravidez” e doze subcategorias. Perceberam-se atitudes positivas do casal relacionadas com a espiritualidade. Muitas mulheres mencionaram a confiança e o apoio divino para o parto e nascimento, também estavam preocupadas com o feto e faziam renúncias para que eles ficassem bem. Em muitos estudos os homens foram prestativos e atenciosos para com a gestante e bebê e queriam estar informados sobre a saúde dos dois, em todos os estudos os homens se mostraram protetores e esforçados, vários tiveram atitudes ou sentimentos positivos ligados a espiritualidade.O enfermeiro foi identificado como um profissional que apoia e fornece informações aos pacientes, entretanto, não foi visto como um provedor de suporte espiritual para o casal grávido.
