Resumo: Basil (Ocimum basilicum L, var.Cinamon) is one of the crops with the greatest potential for the export market because it is a medicinal species widely used due to the characteristics of its essential oils. The present work had as objective to evaluate general to evaluate the content and chemical identification of the essential oil of basil (Ocimum basilicum L, var. Cinamon) submitted to water stress in different environments. The experimental design used was in blocks (DBC) with a 2 x 5 factorial scheme, with two types of environments in which the plants were submitted to a screened and open environment and five days of stress management. For the identification of functional groups, ATR Raman spectroscopy was used. The results showed the presence of alcohols and phenols with bands of intense striations of O-H (chelate) centered between 3000 and 2500 cm-1, thus constituting the presence of these two functional groups, mostly. The levels of essential oil in plants submitted to a screened and open environment showed no statistical difference. It was found that the essential oils collected after 12 days of water stress and subjected to the screened environment variable showed better results of peaks and intensity of absorption. Thus, the presence of alcohols and phenols as the major functional groups was verified.

Research, Society and Development2020-08-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/524710.33448/rsd-v9i8.5247Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 8; e919985247Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 8; e919985247Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 8; e9199852472525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/5247/6014Copyright (c) 2020 Ana Raynara Domingoshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDomingos, Ana Larissa Raynara da SilvaMarco, Cláudia AraújoMachado, Maria Inês RodriguesFeitosa, Antonio Jorge SoaresPalmeira, Isis AlvesSilva, João Hermínio da2020-08-20T18:00:17Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/5247Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:28:49.417408Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
