Use of sensors in the intake of air in internal combustion engines: systematic review of the literature

Resumo: Due to the constant contact with the earth, many agricultural machineries that have diesel engines, have problems in their performance due to the entry of dust particles in the air intake system. This work aimed to carry out a systematic review of the literature regarding the use of sensors in solving contamination problems in the air intake system in diesel engines. The inclusion criteria were articles that were complete and available, in English and Portuguese, and that had some application regarding the use of sensors in diesel engines, or that dealt with problems in air intake. The exclusion criteria, on the other hand, were the works that did not fit these eligibility criteria. Approximately 2,414 articles were retrieved, of which 31 met the eligibility criteria and were accepted for full reading. Given the limitations of the research, such as the reduced number of databases used, restriction of the language of the works, a meta-analysis was not possible to be conducted, limiting the research to only qualitative analyses. However, it was possible to notice some gaps in knowledge regarding the lack of works aimed at solving the problem raised, as well as the lack of works related to the theme at the national level.

Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo realizar una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre el uso de sensores en la solución de problemas de contaminación en el sistema de admisión de aire en motores diésel. Los criterios de inclusión fueron artículos que estuvieran completos y disponibles, en inglés y portugués, y que tuvieran alguna aplicación en cuanto al uso de sensores en motores diesel, o que trataran problemas en la entrada de aire. Los criterios de exclusión, por otro lado, fueron las obras que no cumplieron con estos criterios de elegibilidad. Se recuperaron aproximadamente 2414 artículos, de los cuales 31 cumplieron con los criterios de elegibilidad y fueron aceptados para lectura completa. Dadas las limitaciones de la investigación, como el número reducido de bases de datos utilizadas, la restricción del idioma de los trabajos, no fue posible realizar un metanálisis, limitando la investigación a análisis cualitativos. Sin embargo, fue posible notar algunos vacíos de conocimiento en cuanto a la falta de trabajos dirigidos a la solución del problema planteado, así como la falta de trabajos relacionados con el tema a nivel nacional.Devido ao contato constante com a terra, muitos maquinários agrícolas que possuem motores diesel, apresentam problemas em seu desempenho devido a entrada de partículas de poeira no sistema de admissão de ar. Esse trabalho propôs-se a realização de uma revisão sistemática da literatura quanto ao uso de sensores na solução de problemas de contaminação no sistema de admissão de ar em motores diesel. Os critérios de inclusão foram artigos completos e disponíveis, na língua inglesa e portuguesa, e que possuíam alguma aplicação quanto ao uso de sensores em motores diesel, ou que tratavam problemas na admissão de ar. Já os critérios de exclusão, foram os trabalhos que não se encaixavam nesses critérios de elegibilidade. Foram recuperados cerca de 2.414 artigos, dos quais 31 deles cumpriam os critérios de elegibilidade e foram aceitos para a leitura integral. Dada as limitações da pesquisa, tais como número reduzido de bases de dados utilizadas, restrição do idioma dos trabalhos, uma meta-análise não foi possível de ser conduzida, limitando a pesquisa a análises apenas qualitativas.
