Resumo: This article objective to identify adolescentes of knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding vulnerability to STD/HIV/AIDS. This is a quantitative study, with a sample consisting of 1088 young students aged between 15 and 18 years. Data were obtained using a structured form, analyzed by SPSS software version 20.0. The results show that most of the participants had adequate knowledge about the ways of transmission of STD, with information on the topic received at school. However, many were unaware of the term vulnerability, although they considered themselves vulnerable to STD/HIV/AIDS. They demonstrated inappropriate attitudes and practices, especially by not using condoms in all sexual relations. There was a strong association between gender and having sex or not; gender and knowledge about vulnerability; having a partner and using other contraceptive methods; and between the beginning of sexual life with sexual orientation. Thus, the attitudes and practices referred to, especially the low use of condoms, require continuous encouragement for dialogue about safe behaviors, as they seem to be much more concerned with unwanted pregnancies than with the acquisition of sexually transmitted diseases.

Research, Society and Development2020-12-13info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/1064710.33448/rsd-v9i12.10647Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 12; e3391210647Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 12; e3391210647Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 12; e33912106472525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/10647/9626Copyright (c) 2020 Susanne Pinheiro Costa e Silva; Thaíse Araújo Rocha; Paulo José Pereira; Victor Hugo da Silva Martins; Andressa de Macêdo Cardoso; Tatiana Carla Carvalho Amorim Guisandehttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSilva, Susanne Pinheiro Costa e Rocha, Thaíse AraújoPereira, Paulo José Martins, Victor Hugo da Silva Cardoso, Andressa de Macêdo Guisande, Tatiana Carla Carvalho Amorim2020-12-30T23:32:22Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/10647Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:32:40.041629Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
