Resumo: | Introduction: Femoral fractures in elderly women usually are associated to high morbid-mortability. The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated to femoral fractures in the elderly women (≥ 60 years). Methods: It was a cohort study with elderly women who underwent surgical procedures between 2000 and 2015. We used a socio-demographic/clinical data collection instrument and the European Vertebral Osteoporosis Study Group (EVOS). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Student t-test and Chi-square test with a significance level of p <0.05. The study was approved by the institution’s Ethics Committee for Research with Human Subjects. Results: Eighteen women were included in analysis. The mean(±SEM) age at fracture time was 74.43±2.35 years. median[95%CI] age of menopause of 48.00[41.48–51.74] years, mean(±SEM) menopause time of 33.65±3.43 Fracture due to fall (77.8%). Most of of the interviewed women did not use of medication for treatment of osteoporosis. Conclusion: These results suggest the vulnerability of the participants to new fractures, indicating the need for greater attention to the health-illness-care process. |

Research, Society and Development2021-08-07info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/1843910.33448/rsd-v10i10.18439Research, Society and Development; Vol. 10 No. 10; e145101018439Research, Society and Development; Vol. 10 Núm. 10; e145101018439Research, Society and Development; v. 10 n. 10; e1451010184392525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/18439/28629Copyright (c) 2021 Milena da Silva Santos; Charles Francisco Ferreira; Fernanda Vargas Ferreira; Mona Lúcia Dall’Agno; Maria Celeste Osório Wenderhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSantos, Milena da Silva Ferreira, Charles FranciscoFerreira, Fernanda Vargas Dall’Agno, Mona Lúcia Wender, Maria Celeste Osório 2021-10-02T21:49:16Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/18439Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:38:34.949996Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
