The postural profile of Brazilian children and adolescents and the factors that contribute to postural changes: A literature review

Resumo: The main objective of this research was to analyze the methods of investigating and monitoring characteristics of postural alignment and factors related to postural deviation that contribute to changes in the posture of children and adolescents, as well as the contributions of obesity, growth and inactivity. As a way to continue the study, the systematic and exploratory bibliographic review methodology was used. 9 articles published from 2013 to 2023 were analyzed, selected from the VHL database, Embase, PubMed, Scielo, Google Scholar and Scientific Journals, resulting from the descriptors: Body Posture, Children, Adolescents, Anthropometric Assessment, Educational Assessment. Articles focused on evaluation methods that are commonly used and methods that can be used or inserted were analyzed for professionals to evaluate this public in public schools. From the main results found, it was possible to examine that BMI is the most used method in schools, but other methods such as the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children (PAQ-C), Symmetrography, Panoramic X-rays, Computerized Dynamic Posturography, Assessment Form Nieman's postural analysis, Digital Photogrammetry, for example, were also much more efficient for this analysis and monitoring of the postural health of children and adolescents, in addition to the associations of these methods that in the research carried out show promise. Therefore, the combination of these assessment methods could easily be adopted in schools, due to the simplicity of the material used. Furthermore, this study also identified the lack of research focused on these characteristics, helping to elucidate the connection and contributions between physical activity, posture and knowledge of the general functioning of the body in this age group.

Como forma de continuar con el estudio se utilizó la metodología de revisión bibliográfica sistemática y exploratoria. Se analizaron 9 artículos publicados entre 2013 y 2023, seleccionados de la base de datos de la BVS, Embase, PubMed, Scielo, Google Scholar y Revistas Científicas, resultantes de los descriptores: Postura Corporal, Niños, Adolescentes, Evaluación Antropométrica, Evaluación Educativa. Se analizaron artículos centrados en los métodos de evaluación que se utilizan comúnmente y los métodos que se pueden utilizar o insertar para que los profesionales evalúen a este público en las escuelas públicas. De los principales resultados encontrados se pudo examinar que el IMC es el método más utilizado en las escuelas, pero también existen otros métodos como el Cuestionario de Actividad Física Infantil (PAQ-C), Simetrografía, Radiografías Panorámicas, Posturografía Dinámica Computarizada, Evaluación Los análisis posturales de Nieman, la Fotogrametría Digital, por ejemplo, también resultaron mucho más eficientes para este análisis y seguimiento de la salud postural de niños y adolescentes, además de las asociaciones de estos métodos que en las investigaciones realizadas se muestran prometedoras. Por lo tanto, la combinación de estos métodos de evaluación podría adoptarse fácilmente en las escuelas, debido a la simplicidad del material utilizado. Además, este estudio también identificó la falta de investigaciones centradas en estas características, ayudando a dilucidar la conexión y las contribuciones entre la actividad física, la postura y el conocimiento del funcionamiento general del cuerpo en este grupo de edad.Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo principal analisar os métodos de investigação e acompanhamento de características do alinhamento postural e dos fatores relacionados ao desvio postural que contribuem para alterações na postura de crianças e adolescentes, bem como às contribuições da obesidade, crescimento e inatividade. Como maneira de prosseguir o estudo, utilizou-se a metodologia de revisão bibliográfica sistemática e exploratória. Foram analisados 9 artigos publicados de 2013 a 2023, selecionados a partir do banco de dados do BVS, Embase, PubMed, Scielo, Google Acadêmico e Revistas Científicas, resultantes dos descritores: Postura Corporal, Crianças, Adolescentes, Avaliação Antropométricos, Avaliação Educacional. Analisaram-se artigos focados em métodos de avaliação que são comumente utilizados e métodos que podem ser utilizados ou inseridos, para profissionais avaliarem esse público em escolas públicas. Dos principais resultados encontrados, foi possível examinar que é o IMC, o método mais utilizado em escolas, porém outros métodos como Questionário de Atividade Física para Crianças (PAQ-C), Simetrografia, Raios-X panorâmico, Posturografia Dinâmica Computadorizada, Ficha de avaliação postural de Nieman, Fotogrametria Digital, por exemplo, também foram muito mais eficientes para a esta análise e monitoramento da saúde postural de crianças e adolescentes, além das associações desses métodos que nas pesquisas realizadas se demonstram promissores. Portanto, a associação desses métodos de avaliação poderia ser facilmente mais adotada em escolas, pela simplicidade de material utilizado.
