Physiological potential of pigeon pea seeds under packaging, drying and storage conditions

Resumo: The objective of this study was to evaluate the physiological quality of pigeonpea seeds submitted to different drying conditions during storage in different packages. The experiment was installed in a completely randomized design, in a 3x4x5 factorial scheme (three drying conditions: oven drying, drying in an experimental dryer and half shade drying; four types of packaging: Pet bottle, Tetrapak box, Nylon bag and 5 L Pet Gallon with candle and five storage periods: 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 days). Seed quality was evaluated by the germination pattern, moisture content, electrical conductivity, emergence and accelerated aging. The type of packaging influences the quality of pigeonpea seeds during storage. The packaging of pigeon pea seeds in Pet bottle allows greater conservation of germination and vigor during the 120 days of storage. The condition of drying in half shade guarantees greater physiological quality of pigeon pea seeds during 120 days of storage.

El experimento se instaló en un diseño completamente al azar, en un esquema factorial de 3x4x5 (tres condiciones de secado: secado en horno, secado en secadora experimental y secado a media sombra; cuatro tipos de empaque: botella Pet, caja Tetrapak, bolsa Nylon y Pet galón 5 L con vela y cinco periodos de conservación: 0, 30, 60, 90 y 120 días). La calidad de la semilla se evaluó mediante el patrón de germinación, contenido de agua, conductividad eléctrica, emergencia y envejecimiento acelerado. El tipo de empaque influye en la calidad de las semillas de gandul durante el almacenamiento. El envasado de semillas de gandul en botella PET permite una mayor conservación de la germinación y vigor durante los 120 días de almacenamiento. La condición de secado a media sombra garantiza una mayor calidad fisiológica de las semillas de gandul durante los 120 días de almacenamiento.Neste trabalho objetivou-se avaliar o potencial fisiológico de sementes de feijão guandu submetidas a diferentes condições de secagem durante o armazenamento em diferentes embalagens. O experimento foi instalado em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial de 3x4x5 (três condições de secagem: secagem em estufa, secagem em secador experimental e secagem meia sombra; quatro tipos de embalagem: garrafa Pet, caixa Tetrapak, saco de Nylon e galão Pet de 5 L com vela e cinco períodos de armazenamento: 0, 30, 60, 90 e 120 dias). O potencial fisiológico das sementes foi avaliado pelo teste padrão de germinação, teor de água, condutividade elétrica, emergência e envelhecimento acelerado. O tipo de embalagem influencia o potencial fisiológico de sementes de feijão guandu durante o armazenamento. O acondicionamento de sementes de feijão guandu em garrafa Pet permite maior conservação da germinação e vigor durante os 120 dias de armazenamento.
