Resumo: This study aims to reflect on the finding of the literature on the Humanistic Theory in palliative care. This in an integrative review, carried out in the Scielo, PubMed, LILACS, Nursing Database (BDENF), Virtual Health Library (BVS), Scopus and Web of Science, databases from April to May 2022. The research question was: “What scientific evidence, in the contexto of humanistic theory, is available about patients in palliative care?” A total of 22.814 studies were found, and after analysis, five studies were included in this work. Among the analyzed studies, it is observed that three of them are is English, one in Portuguese and one in Spanish. Regarding the year of publication, one was published in 2007, one in 2013, one in 2017, one in 2019 and one in 2020. The main findings in the literature on the humanistic theory in relation to patients en palliative care concern care individuality and Humanistic Theories of Travelbee and Paterson and Zederad. The present study showed thet the humanistic theory in relation to patients in palliative care provides the maintenance of the quality of life, dignity and autonomy of these patients in their final stage of live. However, future studies with a better level of evidence are necessary since studies on Humanistic Theory in palliative care are still scarce.

Se trata de una revisión integradora, realizada en las bases de datos Scielo, PubMed, LILACS, Base de Dados de Enfermería (BDENF), Biblioteca Virtual em Salud (BVS), Scopus y Web of Science, de abril a mayo de 2022. La pregunta orientadora fue: “¿Qué evidencia científica, en el contexto de la teroría humanista, está disponible sobre los pacientes en cuidados paliativos?” Se encontraron un total de 22.814 estudios y, después del análisis, se incluyeron cinco estudios en este trabajo. Entre los estudios analizados, se observa que tres de ellos están en inglés, uno en portugués y uno en español. En cuanto al año de publicatión, uno fue publicado en 2007, uno en 2013, uno en 2017, uno en 2019 y uno en 2020. Los principales hallazgos en la literatura sobre la teoría humanista en relación con los pacientes en cuidados paliativos se refieren a la individualidad del cuidado y la Teorías humanista de Travelbee y paterson y Zederad. El presente estudio mostró que la teoría humanista en relación a los pacientes en cuidados paliativos prevé el mantenimiento de la calidad de vida, dignidad y autonomía de estos pacientes en su etapa final de vida. Sin embargo, son necesarios futuros estudios con un mejor nivel de evidencia ya que los estudios sobre Teoría Humanística en cuidados paliativos son aún escasos.Este estudo tem por objetivo refletir sobre os achados da literatura acerca da Teoria Humanística em cuidados paliativos. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, realizada nas bases de dados Scielo, PubMed, LILACS, Base de Dados de Enfermagem (BDENF), Biblioteca Virtual da Saúde (BVS), Scopus e Web of Science, no período de abril a maio de 2022. A pergunta norteadora foi: "Quais as evidências científicas, no contexto da teoria humanística, estão disponíveis sobre pacientes em cuidados paliativos?" Foram encontrados um total de 22.814 estudos sendo que após análise, foram incluídos neste trabalho cinco estudos. Dentre os estudos analisados observa-se que três deles são em língua inglesa, um em português e um em espanhol. Com relação ao ano de publicação, um foi publicado em 2007, um em 2013, um em 2017, um em 2019 e um em 2020. Os principais achados existentes na literatura sobre a teoria humanística em relação a paciente em cuidados paliativos dizem respeito ao cuidado singular, a individualidade e as Teorias Humanísticas de Travelbee e de Paterson e Zederad. O presente estudo evidenciou que a teoria humanística em relação a pacientes em cuidados paliativos proporciona a manutenção da qualidade de vida, da dignidade e da autonomia destes pacientes em sua fase final de vida.
