Resumo: Objective: Write the care performed by residents in urgent and emergency cases in a rural community. Method:  This is an exploratory and descriptive research, of a qualitative nature. In which 42 adult residents were subjected, with the closing of a sample performed by semi-structured interview and saturation. Data analysis was performed by central id analysis. Results:  The research followed with women, mostly self-declared brown, aged 23 to 87 years, with completed 2nd degree, living in stable union and unemployed. Twenty-one types of urgent and emergency situations were evidenced, of which, in general, the most frequent were: hypertensive crisis, neurovascular disorders and signs and symptoms. Among the varied care performed by the participants were, oral medication use, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, inhalation and topical use of alcohol and herbs, intake of water with sugar and tea, as well as verification of vital signs were found. Conclusion:  Despite the challenges faced by the community, residents demonstrate a great deal of welcome and willingness to learn about the proper care. Being very receptive with actions that enhance access and accessibility to the health service.

Método: Se trata de una investigación exploratóri   y descriptiva, de carácter cualitativo. En el que fueron sometidos 42 residentes adultos, con el cierre de una muestra realizada por entrevista semiestructurada y saturación. El análisis de datos se realizó mediante el análisis de id central. Resultados: La investigación siguió con mujeres, en su mayoría auto declaradas de color marrón, de 23 a 87 años, con 2o grado completado, que viven en unión estable y desempleados. Se evidenciaron veintiún tipos de situaciones urgentes y de emergencia, de las cuales, en general, las más frecuentes fueron: crisis hipertensiva, trastornos neurovasculares y signos y síntomas. Entre los diversos cuidados que realizaron los participantes se encontraban, se encontró el uso de medicamentos orales, la es suscitación cardiopulmonar, la inhalación y el uso tópico de alcohol y hierbas, la ingesta de agua con azúcar y té, así como la verificación de signos vitales. Conclusión: A pesar de los desafíos que enfrenta la comunidad, los residentes demuestran una gran cantidad de bienvenida y disposición para aprender acerca de la atención adecuada. Ser muy receptivo con acciones que mejoran el acceso y la accesibilidad al servicio de salud. Objetivo:  Descrever os cuidados realizados por moradores em casos de urgência e emergência em uma comunidade rural. Método: Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória e descritivo, de natureza qualitativa. Em que foram sujeitos 42 moradores adultos, com o fechamento de amostra realizado por entrevista semiestruturada e saturação. A análise de dados foi por meio da análise ídeo-central. Resultados: A pesquisa seguiu com mulheres, em sua maioria, autodeclaradas pardas, na faixa etária de 23 a 87 anos, com 2º grau completo, vivendo em união estável e desempregadas. Foram evidenciados 21 tipos de situações de urgência e emergência, das quais, de modo geral, as mais frequentes foram: crise hipertensiva, afecções neuro-vasculares e sinais e sintomas. Dentre os cuidados variados realizados pelos participantes, foram encontrados, uso de medicamento via oral, Ressuscitação Cardiopulmonar, inalação e uso tópico de álcool e ervas, ingestão de água com açúcar e chá, bem como verificação de sinais vitais. Conclusão:  Apesar dos desafios enfrentados pela comunidade, os moradores demonstram bastante acolhimento e disponibilidade em aprender sobre o cuidado adequado.
