Resumo: | This work aims to analyze the representations of madness in the work "Cemitério dos Vivos" and "Diário Íntimo" by the author Lima Barreto, from his memories during the period spent in the hospice. Analyzing the work, we realize that the author builds another image of madness, in which he writes stories of gestures and feelings. In the work, Lima Barreto unveils the domains of the hospice, social and moral space of exclusion, by criticizing the prison system. To do so, he breaks the silence around madness , by making the dark and silent side of the world of madmen visible, we use the concepts of representation, by author Roger Chartier, to interpret aspects related to madness. Therefore, we use theoretical and methodological concepts of autobiographical research to from Branchot's analysis and Albuquerque Júnior, and to examine the connections of the characters with aspects of this author's personal and professional life using the writings of himself, contributed by the author Ângela Gomes, in order to examine the connections of the characters with aspects of this author's personal and professional life. historical construction of madness by highlighting the contribution of Michel Foucault. |

Analizando la obra, nos damos cuenta de que el autor construye otra imagen de locura, en la que escribe relatos de gestos y sentimientos. En la obra, Lima Barreto desvela los dominios del hospicio, un espacio social y moral de exclusión, criticando el sistema penitenciario. Para ello, rompe el silencio en torno a la locura, haciendo el lado oscuro y silencioso del mundo loco es visible, utilizamos los conceptos de representación, del autor Roger Chartier, para interpretar los aspectos relacionados con la locura. Para ello, utilizamos conceptos teóricos y metodológicos de investigación autobiográfica basados en Branchot y Albuquerque Júnior, y examinar las conexiones de los personajes con aspectos de la vida personal y profesional de este autor utilizando de la autora Ângela Gomes. Finalmente, se destacó la contextualización de la construcción histórica de la locura destacando la contribución de Michel Foucault.Este trabalho tem como objeto de estudo analisar as representações da loucura na obra "Cemitério dos Vivos” e “Diário Íntimo” do autor Lima Barreto, provenientes de suas memórias no período vivenciado no hospício. Analisando a obra, percebemos que o autor constrói outra imagem da loucura, em que escreve histórias de gestos e sentimentos. Na obra, Lima Barreto desvela os domínios do hospício, espaço social e moral de exclusão, ao criticar o sistema carcerário. Para tanto, rompe com o silêncio em torno da loucura, ao tornar visível o lado sombrio e silencioso do mundo dos loucos. Utilizamos os conceitos de representação, do autor Roger Chartier, para interpretação dos aspectos relativos à loucura. Para tanto, nos valemos de concepções teóricas e metodológicas de pesquisas autobiográficas a partir das análises de Branchot e Albuquerque Júnior, e para perscrutarmos as conexões dos personagens com aspectos da vida pessoal e profissional desse autor utilizando as escrita de si, de contribuição da autora Ângela Gomes.
