Comparative study between image obtaining techniques in the diagnostic of renal cell carcinoma

Resumo: Renal cell carcinoma is a type of malignant tumor that affects the renal tubules. Its incidence increases every year, and its diagnosis occurs incidentally through the imaging tests. Objective: To review the importance of imaging techniques used in the diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma. Methodology: Integrative review. Results and Discussion: Through the comparative tables elaborated for differentiation of the methods used in the diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma and the selected works, it was observed that the Computed Tomography is considered the method of choice for this diagnosis with its multiplanar reconstructions. Magnetic resonance imaging is the modality of choice in cases of allergy to contrast tomography, and / or the evaluation of the presence of thrombi. Ultrasound is not very efficient in assessing this diagnosis. On the other hand, scintigraphy is also recommended in this diagnosis and should not be adopted in routine practice.

Su incidencia crece cada año, y su diagnóstico se realiza de manera incidental a través de exámenes imagenológicos. Objetivo: Revisar la importancia de las técnicas de imagen utilizadas en el diagnóstico del carcinoma de células renales. Metodología: Revisión integrativa. Resultados y Discusión: A través de los cuadros comparativos elaborados para diferenciar los métodos utilizados en el diagnóstico del carcinoma de células renales, y de los trabajos seleccionados, se observó que la tomografía computarizada es considerada el método de elección para este diagnóstico con sus reconstrucciones multiplanares. La Resonancia Magnética, por su parte, es la modalidad de elección en casos de alergia al contraste tomográfico, y/o en la evaluación de la presencia de trombos. La ecografía, por otro lado, no es muy eficiente para evaluar este diagnóstico. Por otra parte, la gammagrafía también se recomienda para este diagnóstico y no debe utilizarse en la práctica habitual.O carcinoma de células renais é um tipo de tumor maligno que acomete os túbulos renais. Sua incidência cresce a cada ano, e seu diagnóstico se dá incidentalmente através dos exames de imagens. Objetivo: Revisar a importância das técnicas de obtenção de imagens utilizadas no diagnóstico do carcinoma de células renais. Metodologia: Revisão integrativa. Resultados e Discussão: Através das tabelas comparativas elaboradas para diferenciação dos métodos utilizados no diagnóstico do carcinoma de células renais, e dos trabalhos selecionados, foi observado que a Tomografia computadorizada é considerada o método de eleição para esse diagnóstico com suas reconstruções multiplanares. Já a Ressonância Magnética, é a modalidade de escolha em casos de alergia ao contraste da tomografia, e/ou na avaliação de presença de trombos. Já o ultrassom não é muito eficiente nas avaliações desse diagnóstico.
