Educational process on Pharmaceutical Care and Metabolic Syndrome for the implementation of Clinical Pharmaceutical Services in Primary Health Care

Resumo: | This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge of pharmacists about Metabolic Syndrome (MS) and Pharmaceutical Care before and after participating in a training process for the implementation of clinical pharmacy in community pharmacies and to understand the perception of pharmacists about the teaching-learning process. This is a descriptive observational study with a quali-quatitative approach carried out with pharmacists working in primary health care. The data demonstrated an increase in the level of knowledge of pharmacists after training in clinical pharmacy with an emphasis on MS. The survey also registered an increase in the number of pharmacists with good and very good performance, the biggest increase was about the content on Pharmaceutical Care. These results were associated with the positive perception of pharmacists regarding the knowledge acquired on the topics studied and in relation to training moments. The study found that the educational process improved the knowledge of pharmacists about MS and pharmaceutical care. They also understood this process as essential for the development of clinical abilities. Additionally, the educational process was relevant to the continuous guarantee of knowledge of these professionals and their clinical role and which has the potential to favor the implementation of clinical services in community pharmacies in a public health system. |

Additionally, the educational process was relevant to the continuous guarantee of knowledge of these professionals and their clinical role and which has the potential to favor the implementation of clinical services in community pharmacies in a public health system.Este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar el conocimiento de los farmacéuticos sobre el Síndrome Metabólico (SM) y la Atención Farmacéutica antes y después de participar en un proceso de formación para la implementación de la farmacia clínica en las farmacias comunitarias y comprender la percepción de los farmacéuticos sobre el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Se trata de un estudio observacional descriptivo con abordaje cuali-cuantitativo realizado con farmacéuticos que trabajan en atención primaria de salud. Los datos demostraron un aumento en el nivel de conocimiento de los farmacéuticos después de la formación en farmacia clínica con énfasis en la SM. La encuesta también registró un aumento en el número de farmacéuticos con buen y muy buen desempeño, estando el mayor incremento relacionado con el contenido de Atención Farmacéutica. Estos resultados se asociaron a la percepción positiva de los farmacéuticos en cuanto a los conocimientos adquiridos sobre los temas estudiados y, también, en relación a los momentos de formación. El estudio encontró que el proceso educativo mejoró el conocimiento de los farmacéuticos sobre la SM y la atención farmacéutica, siendo entendido por ellos como esencial para el desarrollo de habilidades clínicas, además de ser relevante para la garantía continua del conocimiento de estos profesionales y su clínica y que también tiene el potencial de favorecer la implementación de servicios clínicos en farmacias comunitarias en un sistema de salud pública.O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o conhecimento dos farmacêuticos sobre Síndrome Metabólica (SM) e Cuidados Farmacêuticos antes e após a participação em processo formativo para implantação de farmácia clínica em farmácias comunitárias e compreender a percepção dos farmacêuticos sobre o processo ensino-aprendizagem. Trata-se de um estudo observacional descritivo, com abordagem quali-quantitativa realizado com farmacêuticos atuantes na atenção primária à saúde, no período de junho a julho de 2019. Os dados demonstraram um aumento do nível de conhecimento dos farmacêuticos após o treinamento em farmácia clínica com ênfase em SM, seguindo as recomendações da Federação Internacional Farmacêutica (FIP). A pesquisa registrou também um aumento do número de farmacêuticos com desempenho considerado bom e muito bom, sendo o maior aumento relacionado aos conteúdos sobre Cuidados Farmacêuticos. Tais resultados foram associados à percepção positiva dos farmacêuticos quanto ao conhecimento adquirido sobre os temas estudados e, também, em relação aos momentos formativos.
