Strengthening movement for men's health from the nursing consultation in a Basic Health Unit: an experience report

Resumo: | Objective: this research is an experience report on a nursing consultation focused on the attention of men in a Basic Health Unit, located in the city of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, carried out by Nursing students of the 6th period, from the Fluminense Federal University. Method: experience report based on the description, observation and execution of the nursing consultation for the care of the male, carried out in a Basic Health Unit, in the morning of July 2022. Results: an active search was carried out for users who were at the unit for other services such as: accompanying wives in gestational consultations, acquiring medication or vaccinating children, in order to identify suspected cases early and obtain a quick response to adequately guide the application of control measures. The main doubts raised by the users were related to prostate cancer, sexually transmitted infections and other chronic diseases, which were attended by the nurses of the UBS during the activity. Conclusion: The experience report on the strengthening movement for men's health from the nursing consultation in a Basic Health Unit, allowed to understand and better serve the way of attention to men's health, through the active search within a Basic Unit of Health. It provided the visibility to understand the needs and guide the male audience on the importance of taking care of health. Likewise, it stimulated the dialogue between the professional and the patient through the nursing consultation with a view to strengthening a healthy life. |

Método: relato de experiencia a partir de la descripción, observación a través de investigación cualitativa de la consulta de enfermería para el cuidado de la población masculina, realizada en una Unidad Básica de Salud, en la mañana de julio de 2022. Resultados: se realizó una búsqueda activa de hombres que se encontraban presencialmente en la unidad para otros servicios como: acompañar a las esposas en las consultas gestacionales, adquirir medicamentos o vacunar a los niños, con el fin de identificar precozmente los casos sospechosos y obtener una respuesta rápida a los mismos. orientar adecuadamente la aplicación de las medidas de control. Las principales dudas planteadas por los usuarios estaban relacionadas con el cáncer de próstata, infecciones de transmisión sexual y otras enfermedades crónicas, que fueron atendidas por los enfermeros de la UBS durante la actividad. Conclusión: El relato de experiencia sobre el movimiento de fortalecimiento por la salud del hombre desde la consulta de enfermería en una Unidad Básica de Salud, permitió comprender y atender mejor la forma de atención a la salud del hombre, a través de la búsqueda activa dentro de una Unidad Básica de Salud. Proporcionó la visibilidad para comprender las necesidades y orientar al público masculino sobre la importancia de cuidar la salud. Asimismo, estimuló el diálogo entre el profesional y el paciente a través de la consulta de enfermería con miras a fortalecer una vida saludable.Objetivo: relatar a experiência sobre o movimento de fortalecimento para saúde do homem a partir da consulta de enfermagem em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde, localizada na cidade de Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, realizado por alunas de Enfermagem do 6º período, oriundas da Universidade Federal Fluminense. Método: relato de experiência a partir da descrição, observação e execução da consulta de enfermagem para o atendimento à população masculina, realizada em uma UBS no período da manhã do mês de julho de 2022. Resultados: foram realizadas busca ativa de usuários que estavam presencialmente na unidade para outros serviços como: acompanhamento de esposas nas consultas gestacionais, adquirir medicação ou vacinar os filhos, a fim de identificar precoce casos suspeitos e obter uma rápida resposta para orientar adequadamente a aplicação de medidas de controle. As principais dúvidas levantadas pelos usuários foram relacionadas ao câncer de próstata, infecções sexualmente transmissíveis e outras doenças crônicas, que foram atendidas pelos enfermeiros da UBS no decorrer da atividade. Conclusão: O relato de experiência sobre o movimento de fortalecimento para saúde do homem a partir da consulta de enfermagem em uma UBS, permitiu compreender e atender da melhor forma o modo de atenção à saúde do homem, por meio da busca ativa dentro de uma Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS). Proporcionou a visibilidade de entender as necessidades e orientar ao público masculino sobre a importância de cuidar da saúde.
