Resumo: The epidemiological transition of health problems in the Brazilian population has as a characteristic of reduction of infectious diseases and the increase of chronic non transmissible diseases. The Agente de Combate à Endemias (ACE) is a worker of Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) that acts in order to strengthen health surveillance actions among the Family Health teams. This study aimed to know the nutritional profile of Agente de Combate à Endemias, evaluating their nutritional status, their eating habits and looking for factors that determine the food and nutritional (in) security of this public. It is a cross-sectional and quantitative study carried out with 52 ACE from Chapecó municipality, Santa Catarina. Participants responded to a semi-structured questionnaire, including socio-demographic data, nutritional history (health and food history and Brazilian Food Insecurity Scale (EBIA), and anthropometry. The consumption of fried foods, fats and sweets was reduced. Fruits, vegetables, milk and dairy products also indicated a low consumption. In all, 53.8% of the ACEs are in a state of food and nutritional insecurity. We found food habits in imbalance being more regular in foods rich in proteins and carbohydrates.
