Occupational Therapy and Low Back Pain: Epidemiological profile of patients treated at the Teaching and Assistance Unit in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy of the University of the State of Pará

Resumo: | Low back pain refers to pain in the lumbar spine. He has a high impact on the economically active population, and it is an important cause of suffering and disability. General goal is identify the pedemiologic profile of patients with low back pain ateended at Unidade de Ensino e Assistência de Fisioterapia e Terapia Ocupacional (UEAFTO). It is a descriptive, quantitative, and prospective study carry out with patients with low back pain in treatment with physical and occupational therapy at UEAFTO, between october/2014 and may/2015. 19.8% has age between 51 to 55 years, 40.5% do not completed elementar school and 57.3% were married. 29% started working between 12-15 years and 36.6% were unemployed. In clinical data 35.1% were diagnosed more than 10 years and 81.7% recognized some causative factor for the advent of low back pain. Self-care 66.4% of them reported difficulties. 71.8% had problems running clothing. In household chores, 87% had difficulties. In work activities, 29% reported difficulties. In relation to the guidelines on the Activities of Daily Living and Working Activities, 55% and 74.8% reported never having received information, respectively. The guidelines are extremely important to improve the manifestations of pain and function in patients with low back pain. |

Esta presenta gran incidência em La población económicamente activa y es una causa importante de sufrimiento y discapacidad. El objetivo general es identificar el perfil epidemiológico de pacientes com lumbalgia atendidos em la Unidade de Ensino e Assistência de Fisioterapia e Terapia Ocupacional (UEAFTO). Es un estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo y prospectivo realizado con pacientes com lumbalgias, en tratamiento terapéutico ocupacional y o fisioterapéutico en la UEAFTO, entre octubre/2014 y mayo/2015. 19,8% tenían 51 a 55 años de edad, 40,5% no han completado la escuela primaria y 57,3% eran casados. 29% empezarón a trabajar entre 12-15 años y 36,6% estaban desempleados. Em los datos clínicos 35,1% fueron diagnosticados hace más de 10 años y 81,7% reconocían algún factor causal para la aparición de lumbalgia. En el autocuidado 66,4% de los sujetos mencionaron dificultades. 71.8% tenían problemas al ejecutarla vestimenta. En las actividades domésticas, 87% presentaban dificultades. En lãs actividades de trabajo, 29% reportaron dificultades. Con respecto a las directrices sobre las AVDs y actividades de trabajo, 55% y 74,8% dijeron nunca haber recibido información, respectivamente. Las directrices son muy importantes para mejorar el cuadro de dolor y de La funcionalidad en pacientes con lumbalgia.Lombalgia refere-se a dor na coluna lombar. O objetivo geral é identificar o perfil epidemiológico dos pacientes com lombalgia atendidos na Unidade de Ensino e Assistência de Fisioterapia e Terapia Ocupacional - UEAFTO. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, quantitativo e prospectivo realizado com pacientes com lombalgias, em tratamento terapêutico ocupacional e ou fisioterapêutico na UEAFTO, entre outubro/2014 a maio/2015. 19,8% apresentavam idades entre 51 a 55 anos, 40,5% não completaram o ensino fundamental e 57,3% eram casados. 29% começaram a trabalhar entre 12-15 anos e 36,6% estavam desempregados. Nos dados clínicos 35,1% estavam diagnosticados a mais de 10 anos e 81,7% reconheciam algum fator causador para o surgimento da lombalgia. No autocuidado 66,4% dos sujeitos referiram dificuldades. 71,8% tinham problemas para executar o vestuário. Nas atividades domésticas, 87% apresentavam dificuldades. Nas atividades de trabalho, 29% referiram dificuldades. Em relação as orientações sobre as AVDs e Atividades de Trabalho, 55% e 74,8% afirmaram nunca ter recebido informação, respectivamente.
