The use of protocols in emergency and emergency units: an integrative review

Resumo: The urgency and emergency care protocols serve as guides for professionals to provide qualified, organized and more humanized care to patients who seek institutions for care. The objective of the study was to analyze scientific productions regarding urgency and emergency care protocols in hospital units in the national context, analyzing and evidencing the available material on the subject presented. This is a descriptive integrative literature review. The search for scientific articles was carried out in the SciELO database, using the terms "Nursing protocols", "Urgency" and "Emergency", in all fields, and "Nursing" in the area of knowledge. The results of the study revealed the importance of using the assignments of urgency and emergency protocols in hospital units, serving as assistance guides for health professionals, providing them with more security in the execution of the task. The study is concluded by highlighting the scarcity of publications on the topic for the scientific attributions in the study and highlighting the importance of nurses in front of the nursing team for the execution of tasks as a form of sector management and coordination.

El objetivo del estudio fue analizar producciones científicas sobre protocolos de atención de urgencia y emergencia en unidades hospitalarias en el contexto nacional, analizando y evidenciando el material disponible sobre el tema presentado. Esta es una revisión de literatura descriptiva integradora. La búsqueda de artículos científicos se realizó en la base de datos SciELO, utilizando los términos "Protocolos de enfermería", "Urgencia" y "Emergencia", en todos los campos, y "Enfermería" en el área de conocimiento. Los resultados del estudio revelaron la importancia de utilizar las asignaciones de los protocolos de urgencia y emergencia en las unidades hospitalarias, sirviendo como guías de asistencia a los profesionales de la salud, brindándoles mayor seguridad en la ejecución de la tarea. El estudio se concluye resaltando la escasez de publicaciones sobre el tema para las atribuciones científicas en el estudio y destacando la importancia del enfermero al frente del equipo de enfermería para la ejecución de tareas como forma de gestión y coordinación sectorial.Os protocolos assistenciais de urgência e emergência servem como guias para os profissionais realizarem um atendimento qualificado, organizado e mais humanizado aos pacientes que procuram as instituições para o atendimento. O objetivo do estudo foi analisar as produções científicas a respeito de protocolos assistenciais de urgência e emergência em unidades hospitalares no contexto nacional, analisando e evidenciando o material disponível acerca do assunto apresentado. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva de revisão de literatura do tipo integrativa. A busca dos artigos científicos foi realizada na base de dados SciELO, utilizando os termos “Protocolos de enfermagem”, “Urgência” e “Emergência”, em todos os campos, e “Enfermagem” em área do conhecimento. Os resultados do estudo revelaram a importância do uso das atribuições de protocolos de urgência e emergência em unidades hospitalares, servindo como guias de atendimento para os profissionais de saúde, lhes proporcionando mais segurança na execução da tarefa.
