Evaluation of the mango and cashew trade in the Municipality of Arara-Paraíba-Brazil

Resumo: In view of the importance of market information on fruit crops, this research aimed at a detailed analysis of the mango and cashew trade in the municipality of Arara-PB with prominence in the main businesses of the city, obtaining relevant information on these tropical fruits. The survey was conducted using a semi-structured questionnaire applied to merchants at 29 points of sale. As for the origin of fruit acquisition, mango obtained a percentage of 75.9% acquired from middlemen and 24.13% from the producer, cashew with 72.2% by middlemen followed by 27.8% by producers. The fruits obtained a higher index for the origin of conventional crops and 62.07% of the merchants reported not knowing the difference between organic / agroecological and conventional crops. Both mangoes showed a shelf loss of 41.4%, while for cashews there was a percentage of 77.2%; as for the demand index of the fruits studied, 65.6% were obtained for urban areas and 34.4% in rural areas. Among the mango varieties that make up the city's commerce, the following stand out: Espada; Keitt; Rosa and Tomy, while cashew of the red variety is the most frequent in the market niches of the municipality studied.

La encuesta se realizó mediante un cuestionario semiestructurado aplicado a comerciantes en 29 puntos de venta. En cuanto al origen de la adquisición de la fruta, el mango obtuvo un porcentaje de 75,9% adquirido a intermediarios y 24,13% al productor, el anacardo con un 72,2% por intermediarios seguido del 27,8% por productores. Los frutos obtuvieron un mayor índice de origen de cultivos convencionales y el 62,07% de los comerciantes informó no conocer la diferencia entre cultivos orgánicos / agroecológicos y convencionales. Ambos mangos mostraron una pérdida de almacenamiento del 41,4%, mientras que para los anacardos hubo un porcentaje del 77,2%; En cuanto al índice de demanda de las frutas estudiadas, el 65,6% se obtuvo para las zonas urbanas y el 34,4% para las rurales. Entre las variedades de mango que conforman el comercio de la ciudad, destacan: Espada; Keitt; Rosa y Tomy, mientras que el anacardo de la variedad roja es el más frecuente en los nichos de mercado del municipio estudiado.Diante da importância de informações mercadológicas de culturas frutíferas, esta pesquisa teve como objetivo, uma análise detalhada do comércio da manga e do caju no município de Arara-PB com destaque nos principais comércios da cidade, obtendo informações relevantes destes frutos tropicais. A pesquisa foi realizada por meio de um questionário semiestruturado aplicado aos mercantes de 29 pontos comerciais. Quanto à origem de aquisição dos frutos, a manga obteve um percentual de 75,9% adquirida de atravessadores e 24,13% do produtor, o caju com 72,2% por atravessadores seguido de 27,8% pelos produtores. Os frutos obtiveram maior índice para procedência de cultivos convencionais e 62,07% dos mercantes relataram não saber a diferença entre cultivos orgânicos/agroecológicos e convencionais. Tanto a manga apresentou perda de prateleira de 41,4%, enquanto que para o caju houve um percentual de 77,2%; quanto ao índice de demanda dos frutos estudados obteve-se 65,6% pelo meio urbano e 34,4% no meio rural.
