Virtual reality in gait recovery in post stroke patients: a systematic review

Resumo: | Physical therapy uses various measures to help people with some neurological deficit recover, including kinesiotherapy, and in recent years there has been growing interest in exercise-based therapy with video games in neurological rehabilitation, non-invasive virtual reality. Virtual reality gives participants the idea that the environment is real and enables reciprocal communication with the dynamic environment created by computers. This study is a systematic review whose general objective was to analyze Virtual Reality in gait recovery in post-stroke patients. Following on from this, this study had as methodology a qualitative and transversal observational systematic analysis of studies that dealt with virtual reality in stroke patients. The result was five articles that objectively demonstrated the effectiveness of Virtual Reality in the recovery of gait in post-stroke patients, compared to other interventions, concluding that VR is essential in the recovery of gait, but it does not overlap with other conventional therapies. |

La realidad virtual da a los participantes la idea de que el entorno es real y permite la comunicación recíproca con el entorno dinámico creado por los ordenadores. Este estudio es una revisión sistemática cuyo objetivo general fue analizar la Realidad Virtual en la recuperación de la marcha en pacientes post-ictus. A partir de ahí, la metodología de este estudio fue un análisis sistemático cualitativo observacional y transversal de los estudios que trataron la realidad virtual en pacientes con ictus. El resultado fueron cinco artículos que demostraban objetivamente la eficacia de la Realidad Virtual en la recuperación de la marcha en pacientes post-ictus, en comparación con otras intervenciones, concluyendo que la RV es esencial en la recuperación de la marcha, pero no se solapa con otras terapias convencionales.A Fisioterapia utiliza várias medidas para ajudar pessoas com algum déficit neurológico a se recuperar, incluindo a cinesioterapia, e nos últimos anos tem havido um interesse crescente em terapia baseada em exercícios com vídeo games em reabilitação neurológica, realidade virtual não invasiva. A realidade virtual passa aos participantes a ideia de que o ambiente é real e possibilita a comunicação recíproca com o ambiente dinâmico criado por computadores. Este estudo trata-se de uma revisão sistemática cujo objetivo geral foi analisar a Realidade Virtual na recuperação da marcha em pacientes pós Acidente Vascular Encefálico. Nesse seguimento, este estudo teve como metodologia uma análise sistemática observacional qualitativa e transversal de estudos que tratavam a realidade virtual em pacientes com AVE.
