Resumo: Objective: To reflect on the applicability of the Kolcaba Comfort theory for Nursing care to children during childcare. Method: Theoretical-reflective study, based on a critical reading of nursing theories, nursing care in childcare and the need to discuss the training of nurses in this perspective. Results: Kolcaba's theory of comfort is a medium-range theory that can be applied to the practice of nursing professionals in pediatrics, since it has a theoretical framework that invigorates nursing as a science, in addition to being associated and grounded in the process of nursing. The theory establishes two dimensions for comfort: the first referring to states of comfort, which include relief, tranquility and transcendence; and the second dimension referring to the physical, psycho-spiritual, sociocultural and environmental contexts in which comfort is inserted. Conclusion: The comfort theory presents itself as a theoretical framework of easy application for child health. From the use of this theory, nursing recognizes the child's needs, promoting comfort and, consequently, health care.

Research, Society and Development2022-09-14info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3442610.33448/rsd-v11i12.34426Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 12; e275111234426Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 12; e275111234426Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 12; e2751112344262525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/34426/29067Copyright (c) 2022 Laura Dayane Gois Bispo; Beatriz Costa da Silva Chagas; Luana Teles de Resende; Matheus Santos Melo; Vanessa Soares Alves Nascimentohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessBispo, Laura Dayane GoisChagas, Beatriz Costa da Silva Resende, Luana Teles deMelo, Matheus SantosNascimento, Vanessa Soares Alves2022-09-26T11:56:08Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/34426Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:49:43.606837Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
