Clinical and epidemiological profile of women diagnosed with breast cancer in the state of Bahia

Resumo: This study was structured with the objective of knowing the clinical and epidemiological profile of women diagnosed with breast cancer in the state of Bahia. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study. Data were obtained through the Hospital Cancer Registry (RHC) system of the José Alencar Gomes da Silva National Cancer Institute (INCA). Cases diagnosed and treated in hospitals in Bahia that are part of the RHC system and analytical cases diagnosed with breast cancer (CID c50) in the period from 2015 to 2019 were selected. of 5,649 cases, predominantly in the age group from 40 to 59 years (54.6%), of mixed race (71.6%), with incomplete elementary school (35.1%), residents of Salvador (33.8%), who never used tobacco (71.5%) and alcohol (65%), and who had a family history of cancer (46%). Most of them were diagnosed by histology of the primary tumor (98.9%), with infiltrating ductal carcinoma (76.9%), in the left breast (49.3%) in stage IIA (24.6%), being underwent Surgery (Cir) + Chemotherapy (Qxt) + Radiotherapy (Rxt) (16.3%), who had stable disease after the first treatment (49.4%). However, these data may provide information for planning and improving the actions implemented for prevention and health promotion, taking into account the particularities of each region.

Se trata de un estudio descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo. Los datos se obtuvieron a través del sistema de Registro Hospitalario de Cáncer (RHC) del Instituto Nacional del Cáncer José Alencar Gomes da Silva (INCA). Se seleccionaron casos diagnosticados y tratados en hospitales de Bahía que forman parte del sistema RHC y casos analíticos diagnosticados con cáncer de mama (CID c50) en el período de 2015 a 2019. de 5.649 casos, predominantemente en el grupo de edad de 40 a 59 años. (54,6 %), de raza mixta (71,6 %), con enseñanza básica incompleta (35,1 %), residentes en Salvador (33,8 %), que nunca consumieron tabaco (71,5 %) y alcohol (65 %), y que tenían familia antecedentes de cáncer (46%). La mayoría fueron diagnosticados por histología del tumor primario (98,9%), con carcinoma ductal infiltrante (76,9%), en mama izquierda (49,3%) en estadio IIA (24,6%), siendo sometidos a Cirugía (Cir) + Quimioterapia (Qxt) + Radioterapia (Rxt) (16,3%), que presentaban enfermedad estable tras el primer tratamiento (49,4%). Sin embargo, estos datos pueden proporcionar información para planificar y mejorar las acciones implementadas para la prevención y promoción de la salud, teniendo en cuenta las particularidades de cada región.Este estudo estruturou-se com o objetivo de conhecer o perfil clínico e epidemiológico de mulheres diagnosticadas com câncer de mama no estado da Bahia. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, transversal e retrospectivo. Os dados foram obtidos por meio do sistema de Registro Hospitalar de Câncer (RHC) do Instituto Nacional de Câncer José Alencar Gomes da Silva (INCA). Foram selecionados os casos diagnosticados e tratados nas unidades hospitalares da Bahia que integram o sistema RHC e os casos analíticos, com diagnóstico de câncer de mama (CID c50), no período de 2015 a 2019. O número total de mulheres com câncer de mama foi de 5.649 casos, sendo predominantemente na faixa etária de 40 a 59 anos (54,6%), de cor parda (71,6%), com fundamental incompleto (35,1%), residentes de Salvador (33,8%), que nunca fizeram uso de tabagismo (71,5%) e bebida alcoólica (65%), e que tinham histórico familiar de câncer (46%). As mesmas foram diagnosticadas em sua maioria por histologia do tumor primária (98,9%), com carcinoma ductal infiltrante (76,9%), na mama esquerda (49,3%) em estágio IIA (24,6%), sendo submetida à Cirurgia (Cir) + Quimioterapia (Qxt) + Radioterapia (Rxt) (16,3%), que apresentaram doença estável após o primeiro tratamento (49,4%).
