The performance of nursing professionals in the care of patients with Alzheimer’s disease

Resumo: The objective was to identify the contributions of the Nurse to the patient with Alzheimer's Disease. The present study is an integrative literature review. For the search for data, the online research platforms, Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), Spanish Bibliographic Index on Health Sciences (IBECS); Bibliographic Databases specialized in the area of ​​Nursing (BDENF) through consultation of the Virtual Health Library (BVS); Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), accessed through the PubMed portal. A time frame was not adopted for this study. The Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS) “Alzheimer's Disease” were used; “Nursing Assistance”; "Treatment"; “Teaching in Health”. 655 studies were selected, and finally 09 articles were selected that met the research objectives to compose the study. Based on the results, 03 thematic categories were constructed: 1. Guidelines developed by nurses for caregivers and/or relatives of patients with Alzheimer's disease. 02. Nursing guidelines for patients with Alzheimer's disease. 3. Nurses' perceptions about the role of the family in caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease. It is concluded that it is extremely important that the role of the Nurse in the care of the patient with Alzheimer's Disease is well defined, so that the professional can perform his/her function efficiently and so that the patient does not miss any essential care in the treatment of this disease, and thus, occur efficiently.

El presente estudio es una revisión integrativa de la literatura. Para la búsqueda de datos, las plataformas de investigación en línea, Literatura Latinoamericana y del Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud (LILACS), Índice Bibliográfico Español en Ciencias de la Salud (IBECS); Bases de Datos Bibliográficas especializadas en el área de Enfermería (BDENF) consultando la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS); Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), al que se accede a través del portal PubMed. No se adoptó un marco de tiempo para este estudio. Se utilizaron los Descriptores en Ciencias de la Salud (DeCS) “Enfermedad de Alzheimer”; “Asistencia de Enfermería”; "Tratamiento"; “Enseñanza em Salud”. Se seleccionaron 655 estudios, y finalmente se seleccionaron 09 artículos que cumplieron con los objetivos de investigación para componer el estudio. Con base en los resultados, fueron construidas 03 categorías temáticas: 1. Directrices desarrolladas por enfermeros para cuidadores y/o familiares de pacientes con enfermedad de Alzheimer. 02. Pautas de enfermería para pacientes con enfermedad de Alzheimer. 3. Percepciones de los enfermeros sobre el papel de la familia en el cuidado de los pacientes con enfermedad de Alzheimer. Se concluye que es de suma importancia que el papel de la Enfermera en el cuidado del paciente con Enfermedad de Alzheimer esté bien definido, para que el profesional pueda desempeñar su función de manera eficiente y que el paciente no pierda ningún cuidado esencial en su el tratamiento de esta enfermedad, y por lo tanto, ocurrir de manera eficiente.Objetivou-se identificar as contribuições do Enfermeiro ao paciente portador de Doença de Alzheimer. O presente estudo trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura. Para a busca dos dados foram utilizadas como fontes de coleta as plataformas online de pesquisa, Literatura Latino Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Índice Bibliográfico Espanhol em Ciências da Saúde (IBECS); Bases de Dados bibliográficos especializados na área de Enfermagem (BDENF) por meio da consulta à Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS); Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), acessada por meio do portal PubMed. Não foi adotado um recorte temporal para este estudo. Foram utilizados os Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DeCS) “Mal de Alzheimer”; “Assistência de Enfermagem”; “Tratamento”; “Ensino em Saúde”. Foram selecionados 655 estudos, e por fim selecionados 09 artigos que atendiam os objetivos da pesquisa para compor o estudo. A partir dos resultados foram construídas 03 categorias temáticas: 1. Orientações desenvolvidas por profissionais Enfermeiros à cuidadores e ou familiares de Pacientes com mal de Alzheimer. 02. Orientações de enfermagem a pacientes com mal de Alzheimer. 3. Percepções do Enfermeiro sobre o papel da família na assistência a pacientes com doença de Alzheimer.
