Active methodologies in the teaching of Teledentistry: an experience report

Resumo: | The aim of this study was to describe the experience of students from the Dentistry course, who, through the use of active methodologies, developed and presented a live on Teleodontology during the curricular component Information and Communication Technology in Dentistry (TICO) at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, referring to the classes and activities proposed in the TICO course, which took place in the second semester of 2021. In order to work on the theme about Tele Dentistry and to encourage the direct participation of students in the construction of their learning, a live was proposed. During the entire production process of the activity, it was necessary for the students to prospect autonomy. In this sense, the active methodologies were used as incentive mechanisms in the teaching-learning dynamic. Initially, there was a need for familiarization with search tools and their use, and through these, bibliographic research was carried out to deepen the theme. Moreover, the development of this product has directly contributed to the academic insertion in the scientific field, allowing the construction of a critical and reflexive look. At the end of the live telemedicine project, it can be seen that the results and objectives achieved were consistent with the development of competencies for the professional training of students, which were provided by the use of active methodologies. |

At the end of the live telemedicine project, it can be seen that the results and objectives achieved were consistent with the development of competencies for the professional training of students, which were provided by the use of active methodologies.El objetivo del trabajo fue describir la experiencia de los estudiantes del curso de Odontología, quienes mediante el uso de metodologías activas elaboraron y presentaron un directo sobre Teleodontología durante el componente curricular Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación en Odontología (TICO) en la Universidad Federal de Paraíba (UFPB). Se trata de un estudio descriptivo, del tipo informe de experiencia, referido a las clases y actividades propuestas en la asignatura de TICO, ocurridas en el segundo semestre de 2021. Para trabajar el tema sobre la teledontología y con el fin de fomentar la participación directa de los alumnos en la construcción de su aprendizaje, se propuso la realización de un directo. Durante todo el proceso de producción de la actividad fue necesaria por parte de los alumnos la perspectiva de autonomía. En este sentido, las metodologías activas se utilizaron como mecanismos de incentivo en la dinámica de enseñanza-aprendizaje. En un primer momento, fue necesario familiarizarse con las herramientas de búsqueda así como con su uso y, a través de ellas, se realizaron investigaciones bibliográficas para profundizar en el tema. Además, el desarrollo de este producto contribuyó directamente para la inserción académica en el ámbito científico, posibilitando la construcción de una mirada crítica y reflexiva. Al finalizar el proyecto de teleodontología en vivo, se observa que los resultados y objetivos alcanzados fueron coherentes con el desarrollo de competencias para la formación profesional de los estudiantes, que fueron aportadas por el uso de metodologías activas.O objetivo do trabalho foi descrever a experiência dos discentes do curso de Odontologia, os quais por meio do uso de metodologias ativas elaboraram e apresentaram uma live sobre Teleodontologia durante o componente curricular Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação em Odontologia (TICO) na Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB). Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência, referente às aulas e atividades propostas na disciplina de TICO, ocorridas no segundo semestre de 2021. Para trabalhar a temática acerca da Teleodontologia e com o intuito de fomentar a participação direta dos discentes na construção do seu aprendizado, foi proposta a realização de uma live. Durante todo o processo de produção da atividade foi necessário por parte dos discentes a prospecção da autonomia. Nesse sentido, as metodologias ativas foram utilizadas como mecanismos de incentivo na dinâmica de ensino-aprendizagem. Inicialmente, houve a necessidade de familiarização com ferramentas de busca bem como o seu uso e por meio destas realizaram-se pesquisas bibliográficas para aprofundamento acerca da temática. Ademais, o desenvolvimento desse produto contribuiu diretamente para a inserção acadêmica no âmbito científico, possibilitando a construção de um olhar crítico e reflexivo.
