Integrative review of the use of peki oil (Caryocar brasiliense) in the cicatriation process of rat cutaneous wounds

Resumo: Objective: to identify scientific evidence in the literature on the use of pequi oil (Caryocar brasiliense) in the wound healing process. Method: Integrative literature review carried out in MEDLINE, EBSCO, LILACS, considering as criteria for inclusion publications available online; in English, Portuguese or Spanish, published between 2015 and 2022; and that addressed the use of pequi oil extract in wound healing. Review articles, duplicates, unrelated to the theme, and gray publications were excluded. After selecting the studies, the selected articles were analyzed and synthesized. Results: Three articles were included, 100% of which were randomized controlled trials, in 2015 (66.7%). Conclusion: pequi oil has a beneficial action in the tissue repair process of wounds in rats, evidenced by the reduction of the inflammatory response and greater collagen deposition, increasing the healing speed.

Método: Revisión integradora de literatura realizada en MEDLINE, EBSCO, LILACS, considerando como criterios de inclusión publicaciones disponibles en línea; en inglés, portugués o español, publicados entre 2015 y 2022; y que abordó el uso del extracto de aceite de pequi en la cicatrización de heridas. Se excluyeron artículos de revisión, duplicados, ajenos al tema y publicaciones grises. Después de seleccionar los estudios, los artículos seleccionados fueron analizados y sintetizados. Resultados: Se incluyeron tres artículos, el 100% de los cuales eran ensayos controlados aleatorios, en 2015 (66,7%). Conclusión: el aceite de pequi tiene una acción benéfica en el proceso de reparación tisular de heridas en ratas, evidenciada por la reducción de la respuesta inflamatoria y mayor depósito de colágeno, aumentando la velocidad de cicatrización. Objetivo: identificar evidências científicas na literatura sobre o uso do óleo de pequi (Caryocar brasiliense) no processo de cicatrização de feridas. Método: Revisão integrativa da literatura realizada na MEDLINE, EBSCO, LILACS, considerando como critérios para inclusão publicações disponíveis online; em língua inglesa, portuguesa ou espanhola, publicados no período de 2015 a 2022; e que abordassem o uso do extrato do óleo de pequi na cicatrização de feridas. Excluíram-se artigos de revisão, duplicados, sem relação com a temática, e publicações cinzas. Após a seleção dos estudos, procedeu-se a análise e síntese dos artigos selecionados. Resultados: Três artigos foram incluídos, sendo 100% ensaios clínicos randomizados controlados, no ano de 2015 (66,7%).
