Resumo: Cardiopulmonary arrest is defined as the sudden and continuous interruption of the heartbeat followed by the suspension of breathing, leading the patient to unconsciousness, apnea, and lack of response to stimuli and absence of palpable pulsations. The objective was to know the epidemiological profile of patients in cardiorespiratory arrest (CRP). It is an integrative literature review, with bibliographic survey through the keywords consulted in DECS: Cardiac arrest, Emergency Medical Services and Health Profile, in the Scielo and LILACS databases, in September 2019. They selected eight articles. For analysis. Results: Most patients are male, white; the age of the victims ranged from 16 to 101 years and their most frequent cause was respiratory failure and the most common initial cardiac rhythm was pulseless electrical activity. As final considerations, it is understood that knowing the characteristics of patients is paramount in adopting preventive measures and early recognition of predisposing factors that may lead to a CRP.
