Resumo: | Zooliterature is a term that refers to texts that cover the different forms of the animals present in literary works. The literature allows figures of speech, metaphors and stories that contribute to the construction of intellect and society. In order to carry out a critical analysis of the book Holly Cow, David Duchovny's work, excerpts of this text were selected to provoke ethical reflection, encompass animal subjectivity and the characterization of the bovine being (bovinity), characterizing a qualitative and multidisciplinary work of literary analysis. The protagonist Elsie, a dairy cow from a small family farm starts to question her identity and the human character after learning about the world that exists outside her farm, and how farm animals are used for the benefit of the humans and the humanity. It is concluded that in this literary work written from the protagonist's point of view, one can have a deeper view of the subjectivity of animals and the reflection of human ethics about animals, the interaction between humans and animals may be able to influence and change negatively the way of the behaviors and animalities of the humans. |

La literatura permite la creación de figuras retóricas, metáforas e historias que contribuyen a la construcción del intelecto y la sociedad. Para llevar a cabo un análisis crítico del libro Holly Cow, el trabajo de David Duchovny, se seleccionaron extractos que pueden provocar una reflexión ética, y que abarcan la subjetividad animal y la caracterización del ser bovino (bovinidad), que caracteriza un trabajo cualitativo y multidisciplinario de análisis literario La protagonista, Elsie, una vaca lechera de una pequeña granja familiar, comienza a cuestionar su identidad y su carácter humano después de aprender sobre el mundo que existe fuera de su granja y cómo los animales de granja se utilizan para el beneficio de la humanidad. Se concluye que en esta obra literaria escrita desde el punto de vista del protagonista, se puede tener una visión más profunda de la subjetividad de los animales y el reflejo de la ética humana sobre los animales, que la interacción entre humanos y animales puede influir y cambiar en un de manera negativa sus comportamientos y animalidades.Zooliteratura é um termo que se refere aos textos que abrangem de diferentes formas os animais presentes em obras literárias. A literatura permite criar figuras de linguagem, metáforas e histórias que contribuem com a construção do intelecto e da sociedade. Com o objetivo de realizar uma análise crítica do livro Holly Cow, obra de David Duchovny foram selecionados trechos que podem provocar a reflexão ética, e que englobam a subjetividade animal e a caracterização do ser bovino (bovinidade), caracterizando um trabalho qualitativo e multidisciplinar de análise literária. A protagonista Elsie, uma vaca leiteira de uma pequena fazenda familiar, passa a questionar sua identidade e o caráter humano após conhecer o mundo que existe fora de sua fazenda e como os animais de produção são utilizados para o benefício dos humanos e da humanidade.
