Resumo: The municipality of Iguatu is inserted in the South-Central Region of the State of Ceará, located in the Upper Jaguaribe hydrographic basin, with a hot and semi-arid climate, characterized by few annual rains, with two well-defined climatic seasons: rainy and dry. The analysis of rainfall series is essential in the management of water resources, in view of the influence on ecosystem processes, indispensable for the survival of species, in the transformation of geographic space and the environment, directly influencing the water balance of a region. This work aims to analyze the behavior of rainfall occurred in the municipality of Iguatu, Ceará in the period from 1974 to 2009. To carry out the research, the data were made available by the Secretary of Water Resources of Ceará (SRH) from meteorological stations of the Ceará Foundation of Meteorology and Water Resources (FUNCEME) through historical series. Statistical calculations and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test were performed using the Manitab 19 software to verify the adherence of precipitation values. From the analysis of the results, the rainy season of iguatu occurs in 4 months (January-April) and the dry period, in the rest of the year (May-December), with values below the average, reaching 230.20 mm in March and only 9.47 in November. It was found that the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test is adequate and significant for precipitation values (mm) from the probability value (P) for the study period.

El análisis de las series de lluvias es esencial en la gestión de los recursos hídricos, en vista de la influencia en los procesos ecosistémicos, indispensables para la supervivencia de las especies, en la transformación del espacio geográfico y el medio ambiente, influyendo directamente en el equilibrio hídrico de una región. Esta obra tiene como objetivo analizar el comportamiento de las precipitaciones ocurridas en el municipio de Iguazú, Ceará en el período de 1974 a 2009. Para llevar a cabo la investigación, los datos fueron puestos a disposición por el Secretario de Recursos Hídricos de Ceará (SRH) de estaciones meteorológicas de la Fundación Ceará de Meteorología y Recursos Hídricos (FUNCEME) a través de series históricas. Los cálculos estadísticos y la prueba Kolmogorov-Smirnov se realizaron utilizando el software Manitab 19 para verificar la adherencia de los valores de precipitación. A partir del análisis de los resultados, la estación lluviosa de iguatu se produce en 4 meses (enero-abril) y el período seco, en el resto del año (mayo-diciembre), con valores por debajo de la media, alcanzando 230,20 mm en marzo y sólo 9,47 en noviembre. Se encontró que la prueba Kolmogorov-Smirnov es adecuada y significativa para los valores de precipitación (mm) a partir del valor de probabilidad (P) para el período de estudio.O município de Iguatu está inserido na Região Centro-Sul do Estado do Ceará, situada na bacia hidrográfica do Alto Jaguaribe, possui clima quente e semiárido, sendo caracterizado por poucas chuvas anuais, com duas estações climáticas bem definidas: chuvosa e seca. A análise de séries de pluviométricas é essencial na gestão dos recursos hídricos, tendo em vista a influência nos processos ecossistêmicos, indispensável para a sobrevivência das espécies, na transformação do espaço geográfico e do meio ambiente, influenciando diretamente no balanço hídrico de uma região. Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o comportamento das precipitações ocorridas no município de Iguatu, Ceará no período de 1974 a 2009. Para a realização da pesquisa, os dados foram disponibilizados pela Secretária dos Recursos Hídricos do Ceará (SRH) a partir de estações meteorológicas da Fundação Cearense de Meteorologia e Recursos Hídricos (FUNCEME) por meio das séries históricas. Foram realizados cálculos estatístico e teste Kolmogorov-Smirnov através do software Manitab 19 para verificar a aderência dos valores de precipitação. A partir da análise dos resultados, conclui-se o período chuvoso do município de Iguatu ocorre em 4 meses (janeiro-abril) e o período seco, no restante do ano (maio-dezembro), com valores abaixo da média, atingindo 230.20 mm no mês de março e apenas 9.47 no mês de novembro.
