Resumo: The main objective of this article is to identify how a group of Basic Mathematics teachers from the city of Uberlandia - MG characterizes the term “Analysis of Models”, based on the assumption that it is a methodological alternative of teaching, and that its relation with the Mathematical Modeling in the educational context. By means of a questionnaire on the topic, applied to the 17 participants, the reports that were analyzed were collected using the Discursive Textual Analysis as a research method. The analysis points out that the research participants characterize “Model Analysis” in three different ways, according to the emerging categories of their reports: as a teaching approach that uses mathematical models ready to understand real phenomena through mathematical language; solve problem situations arising from real phenomena; and as a step within a process of Mathematical Modeling. These categories show that there is a close relationship between "Model Analysis" and Mathematical Modeling, either as the use of models derived from a modeling process or as an integral part of this process.

Research, Society and Development2018-04-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/31310.17648/rsd-v7i4.313Research, Society and Development; Vol. 7 No. 4; e1374313Research, Society and Development; Vol. 7 Núm. 4; e1374313Research, Society and Development; v. 7 n. 4; e13743132525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/313/261Copyright (c) 2018 Emerson Silva de SOUSA, Isabel Cristina Machado de LARAinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSousa, Emerson Silva deLara, Isabel Cristina Machado de2019-01-22T01:17:49Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/313Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:25:53.889263Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
