Resumo: The present study evaluates the energy and economic impacts of the use of closed flat solar collectors, typical of the residential sector, in the different geographic regions of Brazil, considering as classes of energy efficiency of the Brazilian Program of Energy Labeling - PBE / INMETRO. Energy ratings showed as all classes of solar collectors, from A (most efficient) to E (less efficient), declared energy gains, instead of electric showers. A representative city was defined for each geographic region of the country, as well as its average ambient temperature and monthly radiation level, the daily volume of bath water to be heated by the system and the electric shower and also the average solar panel area for each residence. Subsequently, the cost information of the representative models was collected in relation to the energy efficiency classes, as well as interest rates and electricity tariffs, and thus, the annual solar fractions were calculated. As economic analysis, use an Annual Net Benefit tool - BAL, presenting the application of more efficient equipment, class A (with the PROCEL Seal).
