Resumo: In Brazil, few hospitals operate seriously in the management of solid waste (RS). The Health Solid Waste Management Plan (PGRSS) is an ally of health institutions, with regard to the commitment to quality and environmental protection. A qualitative case study was carried out at the Municipal Hospital of Goianinha. The objective was to analyze the management of the institution's SR, with the subject responsible for the employees responsible for cleaning, Serial Service Agents, and under their perspective to propose improvements in daily practices regarding SR management. The Environmental Education tool was used to disseminate knowledge and thus add environmental values ​​to the professionals involved. As a result, the need for Environmental Education was continuously observed with employees and the implementation of a Health Solid Waste Management Plan at the location, which was prepared and offered to the institution involved.

El Plan de Gestión de Residuos Sólidos Sanitarios (PGRSS) es un aliado de las instituciones de salud, en lo que respecta al compromiso con la calidad y la protección del medio ambiente. Se realizó un estudio de caso cualitativo en el Hospital Municipal de Goianinha. El objetivo fue analizar la gestión de la RS de la institución, con el sujeto responsable de los empleados responsables de limpieza, Agentes de Servicios Seriales, y bajo su perspectiva proponer mejoras en las prácticas diarias en la gestión de la RS. Se utilizó la herramienta de Educación Ambiental para difundir conocimientos y así agregar valores ambientales a los profesionales involucrados. Como resultado, se observó continuamente la necesidad de Educación Ambiental con los empleados y la implementación de un Plan de Manejo de Residuos Sólidos en Salud en el sitio, el cual fue elaborado y ofrecido a la institución involucrada.No Brasil poucos são os hospitais que atuam com seriedade no manejo dos Resíduos Sólidos (RS). O Plano de Gerenciamento de Resíduos Sólidos da Saúde (PGRSS) é um aliado das instituições de saúde, no que tange o compromisso com a qualidade e proteção ambiental. Realizou-se no Hospital Municipal de Goianinha um estudo de caso, com carácter qualitativo. Objetivou-se analisar o manejo dos RS da instituição, tendo como sujeito os funcionários responsáveis pela limpeza, Agentes de Serviços Gerais, e sob a ótica destes propor melhorias nas práticas diárias quanto o gerenciamento dos RS. Utilizou-se da ferramenta da Educação Ambiental, para difusão de conhecimento e assim agregar valores ambientais aos profissionais envolvidos.
