Resumo: | The production of vegetables is a very advantageous agricultural activity when practiced in suitable seasons and climatic conditions, however, one of the ways to circumvent environmental adversities is the practice of cultivation in a protected and semi-protected environment. The present work aimed to determine the type of covering material suitable for the cultivation of the pepper culture in a semi-protected environment in the region of the Submédio São Francisco valley. The experiment was carried out in the DTCS / UNEB experimental field in a randomized block design in a 5 x 2 factorial scheme with 3 replications. The treatments consisted of five environments with four different cover materials (thermal reflective screen; white screen; black screen and chromatography screen, all with 40% shading and as a treatment witness the open air cultivation and two pepper hybrids (AF-7125 and LUCIA-R), three harvests were carried out starting at 88 DAT, and the following characteristics were evaluated: fruit classification, fruit length and diameter (mm), pulp thickness (mm), production per plant (g plant-1 ), number of fruits per plant, average fruit weight (g), productivity (t ha-1), water use efficiency (kg m3) and volume of water applied (mm). better agronomic performance and greater efficiency in the use of water than those produced in the open. |

El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo determinar el tipo de material de cobertura adecuado para el cultivo del pimiento en un ambiente semiprotegido en la región del valle Submédio São Francisco. El experimento se llevó a cabo en el campo experimental DTCS / UNEB en un diseño de bloques al azar en un esquema factorial 5 x 2 con 3 repeticiones. Los tratamientos consistieron en cinco ambientes con cuatro materiales de cobertura diferentes (pantalla termorreflectante; pantalla blanca; pantalla negra y pantalla cromatográfica, todas con 40% de sombreado y como testigo de tratamiento el cultivo al aire libre y dos híbridos de pimiento (AF-7125 y LUCIA-R), se realizaron tres cosechas a partir de 88 DAT, y se evaluaron las siguientes características: clasificación de frutos, longitud y diámetro de frutos (mm), espesor de pulpa (mm), producción por planta (g planta-1 ), número de frutos por planta, peso medio del fruto (g), productividad (t ha-1), eficiencia en el uso del agua (kg m3) y volumen de agua aplicada (mm). mejor desempeño agronómico y mayor eficiencia en el uso del agua que las producidas al aire libre.A produção de olerícolas é uma atividade agrícola muito vantajosa quando praticada em épocas e condições climáticas adequadas, entretanto, uma das maneiras de se contornar as adversidades ambientais é a prática do cultivo em ambiente protegido e semi protegido. O presente trabalho objetivou determinar o tipo de material de cobertura adequado para o cultivo da cultura do pimentão em ambiente semi protegido na região do vale do Submédio São Francisco. O experimento foi conduzido no campo experimental do DTCS/ UNEB em delineamento experimental foi o de blocos ao acaso em esquema fatorial do tipo 5 x 2 com 3 repetições. Os tratamentos consistiram de cinco ambientes com quatro diferentes materiais de cobertura (tela termorefletora; tela branca; tela preta e tela cromatinete, todas com 40% de sombreamento e como tratamento testemunha o cultivo a céu aberto e dois híbridos de pimentão (AF-7125 e LUCIA-R). Foram feitas três colheitas iniciando-se aos 88 DAT, sendo avaliadas as seguintes características: classificação dos frutos, comprimento e diâmetro dos frutos (mm), espessura da polpa (mm), produção por planta (g planta-1), nº de frutos por planta, peso médio de fruto (g), produtividade (t ha-1), eficiência no uso da água (kg m3) e volume de água aplicada (mm).
