Teaching models for structural evaluation

Resumo: Currently the use of teaching tools, in the form of qualitative models, is facilitating the learning of engineering students. Often these models are marketed or produced by students and teachers. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the reactions of stresses, in the different models of buildings, from the construction of a model of seismic table and a building structure of five floors spaced from each other in two ways (0.2 and 0 , 3m). The seismic simulator was built with a wooden MDF platform, where aluminum rails were fixed to serve as a guide for the pulleys fixed on another upper platform. The upper platform was connected to an MDF disk through a steel rod. The function of this disc was to allow the horizontal oscillatory movement of the upper base, being driven by an electric screwdriver. The experimental results indicated that the simulator table was able to reproduce the seismic effects in the structural models, as well as the proof of these results by the students through mathematical calculations that demonstrated the different levels of expansion suffered when the building models were subjected to different spacing between floors. In general, it was found that the model studied can be used, satisfactorily, as a didactic support tool in the classes of structural analysis disciplines, such as general mechanics, structural theory, among others that analyze the seismic forces on a structure built up.

No es raro que estos modelos a menudo sean comercializados o producidos por los propios estudiantes y profesores. Así, el objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar las reacciones de esfuerzos, en los diferentes modelos de edificación, a partir de la construcción de un modelo de mesa sísmica y una estructura de edificación de cinco plantas espaciadas entre sí de dos formas (0,2 y 0 , 3 m). El simulador sísmico se construyó con una plataforma de madera MDF, sobre la cual se fijaron rieles de aluminio que sirvieron de guía para las poleas fijadas en otra plataforma superior. La plataforma superior estaba conectada a un disco de MDF a través de una varilla de acero. La función de este disco era permitir el movimiento oscilatorio horizontal de la base superior, siendo accionada por un destornillador eléctrico. Los resultados experimentales indicaron que la mesa del simulador fue capaz de reproducir los efectos sísmicos en los modelos estructurales, así como la prueba de estos resultados por parte de los estudiantes a través de cálculos matemáticos que demostraron los diferentes niveles de expansión sufridos cuando los modelos de construcción fueron sometidos a diferentes espaciamiento entre pisos. En general, se encontró que el modelo estudiado puede ser utilizado, satisfactoriamente, como herramienta de apoyo didáctico en las clases de disciplinas de análisis estructural, tales como mecánica general, teoría estructural, entre otras que analizan las fuerzas sísmicas sobre una estructura. construido.Atualmente o emprego de ferramentas didáticas, em forma de modelos qualitativos, vem facilitando o aprendizado dos discentes dos cursos de engenharia. Não é raro que esses modelos muitas vezes são comercializados ou produzidos pelos próprios alunos e professores.  Sendo assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar as reações de tensões, nos distintos modelos de edificações, a partir da construção de um modelo de mesa sísmica e de uma estrutura predial de cinco pavimentos distanciados entre si de duas formas (0,2 e 0,3m). O simulador sísmico foi construído com uma plataforma de madeira MDF, sobre a qual foram fixados trilhos de alumínio para servir de guia das roldanas fixadas em outra plataforma superior. A plataforma superior foi ligada a um disco de MDF através de uma haste de aço. A função deste disco foi permitir o movimento horizontal oscilatório da base superior, sendo impulsionada através de uma parafusadeira elétrica. Os resultados experimentais indicaram que a mesa simuladora foi capaz de reproduzir os efeitos sísmicos nos modelos estruturais, assim como a comprovação destes resultados por parte dos discentes através de cálculos matemáticos que demonstraram os diferentes níveis de dilatações sofridas quando os modelos das edificações foram submetidos a diferentes espaçamentos entre os pavimentos.
