University extension and applicability of active methodologies in the Baixada Fluminense community

Resumo: Introduction: Educational work does not depend only on the school environment, it depends on all factors that involve the student. The project is an extension of the Pre-Hospital Urgencies and Emergencies discipline where the university extension in the community includes theoretical and practical training of elementary school children in first aid situations with the use of active methodologies in education. Objective is to report the teaching experience in guiding the use of active methodologies through the practice of the extension project where nursing students carry out health education as first aid training for elementary school children in a community in the Baixada Fluminense in the State of Rio de January. Materials and Methods: Descriptive study of the type of experience report, brings the experience under guidance of nursing students using active methodologies in health educational practice. Two strategies were used to aid in the teaching-learning process: dynamics of expository presentation and on-site practice. Discussion: The experience of applying training strategies in first aid with the use of active methodologies for children was of great relevance to the students of the project, as well as for children and teachers, as they developed good adherence and performed the practice of the content presented. Conclusion: The health education extension project in the community is considered as a methodological strategy that helps to guide children how to act in first aid situations. In this way, it contributes to knowledge with educational practices based on scientific evidence.

El proyecto es una extensión de la disciplina de Urgencias y Emergencias Pre-hospitalarias donde la extensión universitaria en la comunidad incluye capacitación teórica y práctica de niños de primaria en situaciones de primeros auxilios con el uso de metodologías activas en educación. El objetivo es informar la experiencia docente en la orientación del uso de metodologías activas a través de la práctica del proyecto de extensión donde los estudiantes de enfermería realizan educación en salud como capacitación en primeros auxilios para niños de primaria en una comunidad en la Baixada Fluminense en el Estado de Río de Enero Materiales y métodos: el estudio descriptivo del tipo de informe de experiencia, lleva la experiencia bajo la guía de estudiantes de enfermería que utilizan metodologías activas en la práctica educativa en salud. Se utilizaron dos estrategias para ayudar en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje: la dinámica de la presentación expositiva y la práctica en el sitio. Discusión: La experiencia de aplicar estrategias de capacitación en primeros auxilios con el uso de metodologías activas para niños fue de gran relevancia para los estudiantes del proyecto, así como para niños y maestros, ya que desarrollaron una buena adherencia y realizaron la práctica del contenido presentado. Conclusión: El proyecto de extensión de educación sanitaria en la comunidad se considera una estrategia metodológica que ayuda a guiar a los niños a actuar en situaciones de primeros auxilios. De esta manera, contribuye al conocimiento con prácticas educativas basadas en evidencia científica.Introdução: O trabalho educativo não depende apenas do ambiente escolar, o mesmo depende de todos os fatores que envolvem o aluno. O projeto é uma extensão da disciplina de Urgências e Emergências Pré-Hospitalar onde a extensão universitária na comunidade engloba treinamento teórico e prático de crianças do ensino fundamental em situações de primeiros socorros com o uso de metodologias ativas em educação. Objetivo é relatar a experiência de docência em orientação da utilização de metodologias ativas através da prática do projeto de extensão onde acadêmicos de enfermagem realizam educação em saúde como treinamento de primeiros socorros para crianças do ensino fundamental em uma comunidade da Baixada Fluminense no Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Metodologia: Estudo descritivo do tipo relato de experiência, traz a vivência em orientação de acadêmicos de enfermagem com utilização de metodologias ativas na prática educativa em saúde. Foram utilizadas duas estratégias como auxílio no processo de ensino-aprendizagem: dinâmica de apresentação expositiva e prática in loco. Resultados e Discussão: A experiência de aplicar estratégias de treinamento em primeiros socorros com uso de metodologias ativas para crianças foi de grande relevância aos acadêmicos do projeto, como para as crianças e professores, pois, os mesmos desenvolveram boa aderência e executaram a prática do conteúdo apresentado. Conclusão: O projeto de extensão em educação em saúde na comunidade é considerado como uma estratégia metodológica que auxilia na orientação de crianças como atuar em situações de primeiros socorros.
