Resumo: | The present study aimed to analyze the perception of Physical Therapy students about aging. It was a qualitative research, carried out with 23 Physiotherapy students at a University Center in the city of Niterói, RJ, Brazil. A semi-structured interview was conducted, the content analysis technique was applied, according to Bardin. Data collection was carried out between the months of October and December 2019. The results reflect the importance of promoting the knowledge of Physiotherapy students in relation to aging in the training process, as it was evidenced that there are positive and negative aspects about practical aspects of aging and lack of knowledge about the propensity to imbalances, falls and injuries; the practice of exercises helping to improve cognitive functions and general clinical conditions; the elderly need not feel isolated or on the margins of society, but an important part in the construction. And it is concluded that there is a need to promote health based on the well-being aspects of the elderly, and contributing to the knowledge of Physiotherapy graduates, to ensure respectful and quality care when in their professional performance. |

Fue una investigación cualitativa, realizada con 23 estudiantes de fisioterapia en un centro universitario en la ciudad de Niterói, RJ, Brasil. Se realizó una entrevista semiestructurada, se aplicó la técnica de análisis de contenido, según Bardin. La recolección de datos se realizó entre los meses de octubre y diciembre de 2019. Los resultados reflejan la importancia de promover el conocimiento de los estudiantes de fisioterapia en relación con el envejecimiento en el proceso de capacitación, ya que se evidenció que existen aspectos positivos y negativos sobre los aspectos prácticos de envejecimiento y falta de conocimiento sobre la propensión a los desequilibrios, caídas y lesiones; la práctica de ejercicios que ayudan a mejorar las funciones cognitivas y las condiciones clínicas generales; los ancianos no necesitan sentirse aislados o al margen de la sociedad, sino una parte importante en la construcción. Y se concluye que existe la necesidad de promover la salud en función de los aspectos de bienestar de las personas mayores y de contribuir al conocimiento de los graduados de fisioterapia, para garantizar una atención respetuosa y de calidad en su desempeño profesional.O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a percepção dos acadêmicos de Fisioterapia sobre o envelhecimento. Tratou-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, realizada com 23 acadêmicos de Fisioterapia num Centro Universitário no município de Niterói, RJ, Brasil. Realizou-se uma entrevista semiestruturada, aplicou-se a técnica de análise de conteúdo, segundo Bardin. A coleta de dados foi realizada entre os meses de outubro e dezembro de 2019. Os resultados traduzem a importância da promoção do conhecimento dos acadêmicos de Fisioterapia em relação ao envelhecimento no processo de formação pois foi evidenciado que existem aspectos positivos e negativos sobre aspectos práticos do envelhecimento e déficit de conhecimento sobre a propensão a desiquilíbrios, quedas e lesões; a prática de exercícios ajudando a melhorar as funções cognitivas e condições clínicas gerais; o idoso não precisa se sentir isolado ou à margem da sociedade, mas parte importante na construção.
