Foliar fertilization in the culture of radish cultivated under salinity stress

Resumo: The use of saline water in the production of vegetables is one of the main challenges of producers, since salt stress causes a decrease in crop production and yield. The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth of radish crop cultivated under salinity levels in irrigation water and foliar fertilization. The treatments were obtained from the combination of four electrical conductivities of irrigation water (0.5, 1.5, 3.0, 4.5 dS m-¹) and two forms of foliar fertilization (with foliar fertilization and without foliar fertilization). The experimental design used was completely randomized in a 4 x 2 factorial scheme, with four replications and one plant per plot, totaling 32 experimental units. Radish plants were evaluated for leaf number, plant height, leaf area, relative chlorophyll index, root mass and shoot dry mass. It was found that increasing salinity levels affect the growth and development of radish plants, with significant reduction in leaf emission, leaf area, plant height, SPAD index and phytomass accumulation and that leaf fertilization did not mitigate the effects caused by salinity in irrigation water.

El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el crecimiento de los cultivos de rábano cultivados bajo niveles de salinidad en agua de riego y fertilización foliar. Los tratamientos se obtuvieron de la combinación de cuatro conductividades eléctricas de agua de riego (0,5, 1,5, 3,0, 4,5 dS m-1) y dos formas de fertilización foliar (con fecundación foliar y sin fertilización foliar). El diseño experimental fue completamente aleatorio en un esquema factorial de 4 x 2. El diseño experimental utilizado fue completamente aleatorizado en un esquema factorial de 4 x 2, con cuatro replicaciones y una planta por parcela, con un total de 32 unidades experimentales. Las plantas de rábano se evaluaron para el número de hoja, la altura de la planta, el área de la hoja, el índice relativo de clorofila, la masa radicular y la masa seca de la parte aérea. Se encontró que el aumento de los niveles de salinidad afecta el crecimiento y desarrollo de las plantas de rábano, con una reducción significativa en la emisión de hojas, el área de la hoja, la altura de la planta, el índice SPAD y la acumulación de fitomass y esa fertilización de la hoja no mitigaba los efectos causados por la salinidad en el agua de riego.O uso de água salina na produção de hortaliças é um dos principais desafios dos produtores, visto que o estresse salino causa diminuição na produção e rendimento das culturas. Objetivou-se avaliar o crescimento da cultura do rabanete cultivado sob níveis de salinidade na água de irrigação e adubação foliar. Os tratamentos foram obtidos da combinação de quatro condutividades elétricas da água de irrigação (0,5, 1,5, 3,0, 4,5 dS m-¹) e duas formas de adubação foliar (com adubação foliar e sem adubação foliar). O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 4 x 2, com quatro repetições e uma planta por parcela, totalizando 32 unidades experimentais. As plantas de rabanete foram avaliadas quanto ao número de folhas, altura de plantas, área foliar, índice relativo de clorofila, massa da raiz e massa seca da parte aérea.
