The use of phytotherapy in the management of women in climacteric/menopause

Resumo: The aim of the present study was to analyze the effects of the use of herbal medicines by healthy women on signs and symptoms of climacteric and menopause. This is an integrative review of literature, whose operationalization enables the synthesis of knowledge already produced in the period from January 2015 to December 2019, data collection was carried out through of the following virtual libraries: SciELO and VHL with access through the databases BDENF, LILACS and MEDLINE via PubMed. We analyzed 24 articles that have demonstrated that herbal medicines are effective for reducing the signs and symptoms vasomotor, neuropsychic, sexual dysfunction, urogenital changes and disorders metabolic diseases due to menopause. Among the most commonly used herbal medicines, it was observed that soy isoflavones, foeniculum vulgare, trigonella foenum-graecum and tribulus terrestris. The herbal medicines addressed showed significant results for the climatic complaints manifested in healthy women, in this way it can be a good therapeutic alternative for your specific treatment.

Se trata de una revisión integrativa, cuya operacionalización posibilita la síntesis del conocimiento ya producido en el período de enero de 2015 a diciembre de 2019, la colecta de datos fue realizada por las siguientes bibliotecas virtuales: Scielo y BVS con acceso a través de las bases de datos BDENF, LILACS y MEDLINE vía Pubmed. Se analizaron 24 artículos que demostraron que los fitoterápicos son efectivos para la reducción de los signos y síntomas vasomotores, neuropsíquicos, disfunción sexual, alteraciones urogenitales y trastornos metabólicos derivados de la menopausia. Entre los fitoterápicos más utilizados se observaron las isoflavonas de soja, Foeniculum vulgare, Trigonella foenum-graecum y el Tribulus terrestris. Los fitoterápicos abordados han dado resultados significativos a las quejas climáticas manifestadas en mujeres sanas, por lo que pueden ser una buena alternativa terapéutica para su tratamiento específico.O objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar os efeitos da utilização de fitoterápicos por mulheres saudáveis sobre os sinais e sintomas do climatério e menopausa. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, cuja operacionalização possibilita a síntese do conhecimento já produzido no período de janeiro de 2015 a dezembro de 2019, a coleta de dados foi realizada por meio das seguintes bibliotecas virtuais: SciELO e BVS com acesso através das bases de dados BDENF, LILACS e MEDLINE via Pubmed. Foram analisados 24 artigos que demonstraram que os fitoterápicos são efetivos para a redução dos sinais e sintomas vasomotores, neuropsíquicos, disfunção sexual, alterações urogenitais e distúrbios metabólicos decorrentes da menopausa. Dentre os fitoterápicos mais utilizados observou-se as isoflavonas de soja, foeniculum vulgare, trigonella foenum-graecum e o tribulus terrestris.
