Nursing interventions with drains in the perioperative period: An integrative review

Resumo: The management of surgical drains is a common practice in perioperative nursing care, so it is necessary to analyze the interventions of these professionals and their approximation with standardized language systems that help in a more effective practice. Objective:To analyze which nursing interventions are performed in the perioperative period regarding the management of drains. Method:Integrative review that searched the CINAHL, PuBMed, LILACS and Scopus databases, publications that answered the question: What are the nursing interventions in the management of drains in the perioperative period? Results:Ninety (90) publications were collected, but only eight (08) met the eligibility criteria. Among them, the following interventions were highlighted: cleaning and dressing change; coverage assessment carefully with materials and techniques; emotional support; physical exam; Health education; patient positioning; pain control; signs of infection; secretion control and removal of the device. Conclusion:It is noted that there is a distance between assistance and the interventions proposed by the NIC. Thus, Nursing must still walk in order to solve this gap.

Thus, Nursing must still walk in order to solve this gap.El manejo de los drenajes quirúrgicos es una práctica común en la atención de enfermería perioperatoria, por lo que es necesario analizar las intervenciones de estos profesionales y su aproximación con sistemas de lenguaje estandarizados que ayudan en una práctica más efectiva. Objetivo:analizar qué intervenciones de enfermería se realizan en el período perioperatorio con respecto al manejo de los drenajes. Método:Revisión integradora que buscó en las bases de datos CINAHL, PuBMed, LILACS y Scopus, publicaciones que respondieron a la pregunta: ¿Cuáles son las intervenciones de enfermería en el manejo de los drenajes en el período perioperatorio? Resultados:Noventa (90) publicaciones fueron recolectadas, pero solo ocho (08) cumplieron con los criterios de elegibilidad. Entre ellos, se destacaron las siguientes intervenciones: limpieza y cambio de apósito; evaluación de cobertura cuidadosamente con materiales y técnicas; apoyo emocional examen físico; educación en salud; posicionamiento del paciente; control del dolor signos de infección; Control de secreción y extracción del dispositivo. Conclusión:se observa que existe una distancia entre la asistencia y las intervenciones propuestas por el NIC. Por lo tanto, la enfermería aún debe caminar para resolver esta brecha.O manejo de drenos cirúrgicos é uma prática comum na assistência de enfermagem perioperatória, portanto deve-se analisar as intervenções desses profissionais e sua aproximação com os sistemas de linguagem padronizadas que auxiliam em uma prática mais eficaz. Objetivo: Analisar quais as intervenções de enfermagem são executadas no período perioperatório acerca do manejo de drenos. Método: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa que buscou nas bases CINAHL, PuBMed, LILACS e Scopus, publicações que respondessem à questão: Quais são as intervenções de Enfermagem no manejo de drenos no período perioperatório? Resultados: Foram levantados noventa (90) publicações, porém apenas oito (08) cumpriram os critérios de elegibilidade. Dentre eles foram destacadas as seguintes intervenções: limpeza e troca de curativo; avaliação de cobertura cuidado com materiais e técnicas; apoio emocional; exame físico; educação em saúde; posicionamento do paciente; controle da dor; sinais de infecção; controle de secreção e retirada do dispositivo. Conclusão: Nota-se que existe um distanciamento da assistência com as intervenções propostas pela NIC.
